I just put my engine back into my GTV 300ie after installing a new crankshaft and piston. Because it's my first time I thought I had done the smart thing by marking all of the wire groupings and connector ends with pink nail polish. Now that everything is back in place there is one wire that is not marked and I can't figure out where it goes. It's obviously a ground wire because it's all by itself attached to the inside wall of the bike above the air filter. I was hoping that someone with the same configuration could take a look and point me in the right direction. I would hate to do a job like this just to finish it up by frying my entire electrical system. Thanks.
This is the one wire connected to the inner body.

I'm just giving some input. I agree, looks like a ground wire. Which probably means it needs to connect to any bolt that is bolted to engine, maybe flywheel cover bolt or random bolt that ignores into engine. Wait for more reassurance before you do it.

on my BV it connects to the CVT.

I hope you didn't try to start the engine without it.

Tvactman is correct. It terminates at the most upper-forward bolt of the CVT cover.

Leftover wire
Hey thanks a lot, that explains why it wasn't marked, it was never with the top wires. I've taken the belt cover off a dozen times and have seen that wire but did not know what it was. Now after running it down and seeing it in place my memory kicked back in. Still have a little ways to go before putting the oil and coolant back in, but I feel better with this taken care of. Thanks a lot. Peace.
