where is the plug and play socket on the 2014 model mp3 500 its not on the left hand side as stated in the older manuals and when I find it how easy is it to fit the alarm

On the Sport, they moved it to the Right Side, about the same place that you would expect.
That is where it is on my 2016 500 US Model.

Scooterwest sells the plug so no cutting of the harness.

I have the Piaggio Alarm in the Box, never installed yet on the 2016.
On the older models, I fitted it next to the plug with some tie-straps.
Drilled a small hole for the Alarm Light / Emergency Switch in the Black ABS which is cheap to replace if you decide to remove.
I think others have cut the wires and moved that part to somewhere else.
So its up to your imagination as to where you want it.

I would think fitting on your bike would not be much different just on the opposite side. I have not taken mine apart yet at that location, but eventually I will get around to it. Been to busy riding, but with the weather turning cold, I will probably have more time to do more mods in the winter months.
