Hi everyone.
Another case of "it won't start" here. I've read all the posts, read the manual and tried just about everything so I'm reaching out to the community for any thing I may have missed before surrendering to the dealer.

Here is the situation:
When the key is turned the engine cranks but doesn't start.

Some Facts:
2009 GTS250. 10,500 miles. Garage kept. All maintenance done per schedule by a Vespa dealer. Other than the fuel pump(s), never had an issue

The story:
I had my THIRD fuel pump recently replaced and rode 40 miles home from the dealer. I parked for several months then tried to start it. As the engine turned over a pool of gas formed underneath. Upon investigation I saw that one of the hoses on the fuel tank (the front one) had come off. I suppose the mechanic didn't send it home to properly seat it and it vibrated lose during my trip home, Being mechanically inclined , I saw this as no big deal to fix myself and did not want to bother with the hassle of returning the bike so I used a small pry bar to reinsert the connector. "Snap 1" it went in, but at the same time "Snap 2" and I broke the other connector! After throwing a bit of a tantrum, I ordered a replacement hose. I spent a good part of this weekend removing and replacing the tank to correct my error. Now that everything is put back together, I can't get the scooter to start

I am assuming that these actions are related to the starting issue, could be something not related but my bet is that I messed something up.

My diagnosis so far:
Key turned and I hear the pump "whirl"
Disconnected both hoses on the engine and there is plenty of gas there. I didn't crank the engine with the hoses off
Checked fuses 2,3,4 and 8 - all good
Flicked kill switch several times
oh, yes - filled tank with gas too
Hold brake when starting, brake light goes on
Battery is in great condition, used tender while it was sitting
tried both blue and red keys

Next up - I will inspect the air cleaner to be sure no one has taken up residence there. Then will pull the plug to check for gas and spark.

Could it be that when the hose came off some other damage could have happened? Looking forward to the feed back

engine cranks fine

Immobilizer LED, with key out, flashes about once per sec. When the key is in and turned on LED doesn't light

The only time my GTS 250 cranked but did not start was because:

1. Failing/failed fuel pump

2. Sparkplug wire pulled loose from the sparkplug boot. It appeared ok but the connection was fried.

3. I was out of gas. It's been long enough that I can admit that now.

more trouble shooting done
Checked air filter - clean
checked plug - looks ok, good spark

spay a little starting fluid in air filter to chaco and engine started for a brief sec- just enough to use up the starting fluid but would not continue to run.

Also tried removing the gas cap - no difference

Here is something I saw that doesn't look good. Too me it looks like the connection is torn. Its reminds me of a lose tooth. I feel if I mess with it, it will fall off. What does this do? Is this the injector? Could this be the problem?

When I removed the fuel tank on my LX, the spark plug lead got pulled off. I think that happened when the engine was dropped to clear the tank. Simple fix.

Looks like a similar problem that another member has here I broke my injector - need help

Broken injector?

As you have crank and spark, fuel is the obvious problem.

It cost me about $85 to learn that connector on the fuel injector is very delicate. I broke mine when I pulled instead of pushed on the wire clip that secures the electrical connector. ( maybe I pushed instead of pulled? I honestly don't remember, it was several years ago and I've not had the need to remove the injector since)

When you turn the key to on, the pump pressurized the fuel. Do you hear the fuel pump hum for about 1-2 seconds when you turn the key on? If so, its likely good. If not, the fuel pump isn't working and probably needs replacing. Vespa has an on-going recall for the fuel pump. They replaced the fuel pump on my 2009 GTV this summer (took about 75 minutes). I wasn't having problems but knew it was likely just a matter of time. Any dealer can look up your VIN in a database to determine if its already been done or not.

Best
