Today while coming to a stop at a traffic light my back tire completely slid out on me. I instinctively kicked my foot down and started correcting, when I noticed my glove was holding the throttle open. I let that off and was able to safely break, but only after a nasty S-curve and a very near drop.

I've been wearing the same gloves for going on three Vegas winters, but I'm now officially done with them. They're bulky Hot Fingers snowboarding gloves. Any suggestions on good low profile warm motorcycle gloves in the not-too-pricey range?

Glad you saved it. Sounds like a scary moment. IME, Rev'it Hybrid WSP, on close-out sale at Revzilla, is a great glove for Vegas winter--warm but not bulky.
