I was clocked at 70+ on a stock rally 200 once (by a car with a reliable speedo). I have a stock p200 now that barely makes the high 50s... 70 feels like 150 on 10" wheels. :) |

My bone-stock 2002 Millennium Edition PX200, on flat terrain and a decent road surface near sea level and no wind to speak of, would sit at 61mph / 99km/h indefinitely. (Those were GPS numbers. The indicated speed would always be something higher, like 115km/h.)

of course the P200E is *slightly* different from the PX200, but both the motors I have had were also ~60-62mph max on a flat when stock (GPS). I haven't clocked max with my SIP Road 2, but I doubt it changed much. My folks back in Boston shared this view of the P2s, and noted that some really struggle to break the 60mph mark even. I've since heard disagreement on this here on MV, but I don't know.
I would encourage you try with a GPS, simply because most speedos are optimistic, while mine was actually a good 6 or so pessimistic at those speeds when last I checked. So they aren't known to be very accurate |

anywhere from 60-68/70 with wind at back. Depends on how well its running. You can easily expect 65. If its not mustering more than 60mph something is not right. A 24mm carb is a must as the US spec models after 79 had the 20mm which in my opinion kept the top speed down. This has been my experience after 30 + years and many P200s.

100kph is about it, you wouldn't want to go much faster than that anyway due to the poor handling/brakes.

We'll get down there again soon so we can go run out of gas together. Lock the kids in a closet.
