Modern Vespa

5000 miles of all weather commuting in London since I got my Vespa a couple of months ago.

Treated it to its first ever wash last Saturday. Amazing what a £3 jet wash does. If it wasn't so dark and wet all the time I'd do it more often.

You can't see it in the pictures but there is clear 3M Paint protection film on the front of the body near the seam that rusts that appears to be doing a good job.

Nice, don't forget a good treatment with water displacing spray afterwards
I usually use gt85 or wd40. Forces water away and leaves a protective film.

Nice, thats the same place I used to wash my vespa too. Until it went all bovine.

Is the bovine look an anti theft measure?

I don't think I've ever washed any of my scoots - strangely they don't look too bad, all things considered.

I had a lot of rust in the seam, some dents here and there and wanted something custom but cheap. It is a good anti-theft measure, and it also stops bugs splatting on the front, they get a soft landing and fly away. I just need to cover it when parked.

My house was built before cars and Vespa's were invented so it has no garage. It will sit out on the street chained to a railing being a seat to a friendly neighbourhood cat when I'm not using it.

The cat much prefers the comfort of the Vespa seat compared to all the other motorbike seats, it's a classy cat.
