I have a 2013 GTS and needed to replace the plastic surround (inside of the leg shield) due to a drop. The dealer sent me a replacement part and everything is the same but the space where the fuses reside. On the older one it was a small rectangular hole - the replacement (see picture below) is a a much bigger hole and appears to need an "inser" which I can not find any listing for in the Vespa part diagram? Do I have the proper glovebox surround? Thanks for any help anyone can provide. Picture below is taken of the original part on the left with the smaller lower hole for the fuses and the one on the right with the large hole - maybe it was for additional electronics (ABS?)

I think your original is a 250/early 300 and the new one is newer 300. Cross reference the part numbers. Talk to the boys in Gainesville.

The newer GTSs have a USB outlet in the glove box. They sent you the wrong part. Not unless you want to add the other part(s) and have the USB feature (assuming that's possible).

Thanks guys for the help. I'll be on the phone today with the dealer and see what's the scoop. Otherwise, I'll be riding to Apalochacola with a hunk of cardboard as my glovebox surround!

Latest word from the dealer - David Masse wins the prize with the correct answer!!!!
The later models have the USB port and thus a different configuration to the back of the glovebox by the fuses. The dealer ordered me a new additional piece a few moments ago. Now the question is can the USB port be hooked up on the earlier 2013 models that didn't have it? Either way we'll now wait to see what is in the next package from Piaggio - so exciting! Thanks again guys. |

Glad you got it sorted. Harder to find stock parts from earlier bikes. My '07 front mudguard had to be replaced. In '07 the model didn't have a fender crest. Couldn't find one so now i have a fender crest. You should check to see if MotorSport scooters makes something to adapt the early 300's up for a USB port. I know they made something so the earlier LX series could use the new LED turn signals. Worth giving Max a call. However the dealer is now sending you the right part. Good luck

Thanks Judy & Hi!
I see you post often and I appreciate your response. I'll check out what is involved with adding the USB port. |
