lots of variables here, changing the gearing is not going to produce any more power and ultimately that's what it takes to go faster. That said, max power comes at ~8000 rpm and the rev limiter is at 9200. so if you can drop the RPMs back down to 8000 you do have more power.
I picked up 2-4mph on my GT on flat ground (full tuck), I'd not expect to get more than that. The plus is that the engine is running at a much better RPM doing it. And I can hit 92 on the down hill.
