A three to six hour guided tour is a far cry from "Touring Italy by Vespa". A more accurate description would be "Local Vespa tours in Italy".

I wouldn't even call it that when "Travelers ride on the back of a vintage Vespa along the curvy coastline and stop in the towns of Sorrento, Positano and Ravello. Prices from 450 euros a person with lunch."
Seems rather steep for sitting on the back of scooter and lunch.

I was in the Amalfi Coast in October and did a spectacular day tour of the coast.

Typically, you do ride on the back on a guide but, sine I was an experienced rider I was allowed to ride myself with a guide on the back. Drove a fairly new 300.

If anyone wants more info, please let me know.

I should have done a ride report but, it escaped me.

The Amalfi Coast, Mountains and everything in between was a spectacular ride with amazing views, very tight turns and live flashing you by as you ride on the wrong side of the road as you dodge buses....

Amazing

Definitely a possibly enjoyable day tour, but as I posted above, it is not "Touring Italy".

Whilst visiting Italy in September 2014 we did a Walkabouts tours Vespa tour of Florence. There was our guide Angel, an extroverted Spaniard, and 4 couples who each had their own Vespa to ride. They are 125cc autos that went well in the Florentine traffic. In 4 hours we saw parts of the city and surrounding countryside that we could never have seen by ourselves. As all the couples were experienced riders we saw some areas not always explored, in particular riding on unsealed tracks onto grass in a couple of vineyards. We had a ball; well my wife did after she opened her eyes when we at least 10 minutes from the start point right in the middle of the city.

My wife and I went on a tour in 2015 of the hillsides halfway between Sienna and Florence. Neither of us had ridden before but the guide gave us lessons and off we went. It was in March so we were the only two people on the tour. Our guide even took us wine tasting, which contained a small lunch. If I remember correctly, it was about 125 Eur each for the 6 hour tour.

Renting Scoots in Positano
Last trip to Italy, I rented scooters. I think the scooter rental
shop was in Sorrento. They delivered two Vespa 50s to our
Hotel in the early morning. We had a great time buzzing around.
The rental dealer then came by and picked them up. They also
provided four helmets.

If my memory serves me correctly, the cost was under $150 US.
I set the whole thing up on line before arriving in Italy. It was
on a Sunday and many of the gas stations were closed. We had
to hunt for fuel.

The traffic on the Amalfi Coast with tourists in August was bad.
We were really able to scoot past all the congestion. Great Day.
