noticed that a area of 2inches square on the head light lens had melted and sunk inwards , its all frosted, cant think how it happened, but any one got any ideas how to fix it I had thought of cutting out thedamaged part and sticking a plastic patch over it

That sucks. Headlight should be replaced. Their one unit. So patching it won't be a good thing. Sounds like one of 2 things. Either a wrong bulb was placed in there or something covered the headlight while it was on,causing it to heat up and melt. Headlight gets really hot. Good luck

You could try one of the headlight restoration kits but frankly I think it would be a waste of time. Not cheap but I'd replace it.

From the pic, it looks like it's too far gone for headlight restoration kits.

I've used a Mother's kit with very good results. It consists of various grades of sand paper discs that you attach to your electric drill. The final step is a plastic polish applied to a foam pad, which is used in your drill.

It would certainly be a much cheaper option than replacing and might get surprising results.

i came to the same conclusion , get a replacement light,what it does not show on the photo is a indentation in the lens,so it will not polish out, £85 from honda so ebay here i come
