Trying to choose between Dolomiti Grey and Nero Black...
I think I know where this is headed, but I am wondering if the grey won't show scratches as easily. Plus I don't see many Dolomiti Grey Vespas in photos or videos, is that because no one buys that color, lol? Looks good in pics, but is it dull in real life?

I have not seen either in person, that's why I am looking for input.

I'll just say that despite my having already chosen black, after seeing it at the dealership I had second thoughts for the first week or two.

The metallic effect is rather enticing. Guess there's no bad color.

I do, and yes, I like it. Unfortunately not as much as the dark metallic blue of my '07 LX. Crying or Very sad emoticon

It was either white, blue or black (<i>not</i> doing the Tall, Grande, Venti thing here). But the dealer had a black Super floor model which he'd put 100 miles on, was willing to make a deal on, and even put a fresh set of CityGrips on. Pretty much a no-brainer for me, and in the event I somehow mess the finish up (no no no no <i>don't</i> let it happen!), it should be relatively easy to touch up "like new."

But, let's be honest...is there any offered color a Vespa simply looks <i>bad</i> in?

Vespas in black look so good. The only other color that surpasses black is red. But that is a moot point. My vote is for black.

Dolomiti Grey
I have the 2014 GTS 300 in Dolomiti Grey. I love it, and was choosing between it and the matte black. I think it looks fantastic. I can never decide if it looks more grey or more blueish.

Dolomite Grey is for a "gentleman/lady". Really classy looking color, but no hints to sportiness or such things.

I've not looked at 300cc model colors, but I'll have to say, Dolomite Grey looks really good in the pics above. I also know the reason for this - I have a very similar color in my car

And all this from a guy, who has a yellow scoot... You might understand if you'd live around here - the summer is short and birght colors scarse during the winter...they just go well with all summer hobbies (IMHO). Plus it's a safety thing.

Took a quick shot - I believe this Audi's grey behaves exactly like the Dolomite Grey. When sunny, it's like a nice blue. When dark, it goes so dark it looks almost black. It's the best color I've yet ever had in my car, I've been through a few also black , blue and grey in more pure forms.

And that sad grey figure behind the car is the Sprint in winter disquise....

I saw a Dolomiti Grey at a dealership and I might have purchased it, but it had been sold.
I really liked that color, it had a richness to it..definitely had a hue of blue in it, but muted into the grey. Just lovely.

I saw it at the dealer today... it is gorgeous!
Of course black always looks good, but this grey is so elegant, it makes the Vespa look as expensive as it is. It shows a the lines of the bike well, which in my opinion the white and black do not. Plus the chrome compliments the paint.

I'm sold. Now if I can just make the deal I want. I've been quoted $6500 otd, but I think I can do better.

You can't go wrong either way. Both colors look great. I personally like the Dolomiti Grey much better. I find grey vehicles to be much easier to keep clean looking than black vehicles. Plus grey doesn't get as hot in the summer (probably more of an issue with a car).

Which color was the one you first liked the best? I often find that my first instinct/feeling ends up being the right one for me.

I like the black first, but black and white were the only colors I had really seen. They sent me some pics of the grey from the dealership, but they didn't really do it justice. Once I saw the grey in person, that was the color I wanted. Now I'm trying to negotiate a good deal.

Black bikes
I've had my share of black motorcycles and I think they look great...but I've definitely spent a lot more time washing those bikes than my others. Also...there's something so uniquely Vespa about that Dolomiti Grey...I'm quite partial to it especially on a GTS.

the black is easier to match in the event of a bad scratch etc.

it is a simple black same as any other straight black.

the other colour is trickier to match

I have already asked my dealer to order the latest and greatest GTS 300 in Dragon Red. I guess I will have to wait a while until Vespa starts to make one.

It does seen like Henry Ford now works for Piaggio - any color you want so long as it is black.

When I decided to buy a GTS, the dealer closest to me had the Grey version, but then I saw a dealer about 20 miles away had one in black. I went to buy the black one, but when my wife saw the SS in flat Titanium there, she fell in love with it. She pointed out how the flat color scheme showed off the beautiful lines of the Vespa more.

One close look and I had to agree with her. But I still really like the Black.

Good luck on the negotiation. I hope you can get the price to where you need it to be. Keep us posted, and post pictures when you finally get it.
