Hello every one ive just pick my Vespa from the Michanic after he change my variator with 9.5gr roller and white spring and belt to malossi
I've been driving it for the last 1hour to test the mods and iam a bit sceptical about if I did the correct think
First the acceleration is not there any more it gives me the feeling that it over revs to start rolling
Second the torque at med range is very good
Third the top speed is way more something like 123km on speedometer but i don't need it before it was something like 113-115on speedometer and it was cool
I kind of miss my acceleration i use to have but i thing it will be fix when i change my exhaust to sido plus
Or shall i change the rollers back to the original ones (8.5 grams) i use to have
Pls all to share you opinion and thoughts all are welcome

I swapped mine back to stock because i liked the "rabbit takeoffs". You give up one to get the other. Too bad it can't be both. I'd swap them back. Good luck

Try 9 gram rollers, or, if you like everything about the change except the takeoff, go with a heavier set of clutch springs.

That is what ive been thinking to keep the kevlart belt the variator and the 9.5gr rollers all of malossi and just go back to the original contrast spring and see what it will happen.
I thing I will still have the very good acceleration I use to have have a bit more speed which isa bonus but all of this will happen better and faster than before when it was all stock
Pls do correct me if I am wrong

Yes but if I go heavier malossi contrast spring it will over rev more and it will make it worse or I am wrong

That's not going to give you the results you are looking for.
Another thing you should do is go up some hills that you've been up before. The white spring should help you hold speed going up.
The springs to change are the three small springs in the clutch, on the shoes. Try the Malossi white or yellow ones. This should help your takeoff.

So what you recommend is just change the clutch springs to white or yellow and this will fix my acceleration problems?
And everything will be ok
Which is better the white or the yellow ones and what is there difference
Thanx

You sound like a sport style rider, someone who is interested in performance improvements but doesn't want a full on race bike. The heavier springs raise the rpms at which the clutch engages, so with the yellow (sport) springs, the clutch will engage at a higher rpm and the bike will be closer to it's power band, so your acceleration will be quicker. If it seems a bit rough at takeoff, go to the white (touring) springs.

Ok I will take your advice and keep the malossi white contrast spring and I will buy the white clutch springs to add them on and hopefully will solve the acceleration problem
Also pls can I nave your knowledge on the exhaust part by replacing my standard exhaust to sito plus will it give me more med and top range torque or it will not make any difference

My experience with the Sito plus is it makes as much difference as you imagine it makes.

PM Tuning is the best one in terms of performance. It is a little loud though.
