I purchased a full size windscreen for my GTS 250 and thought it would be great to protect it and maybe make the bug juice clean off easier .I coated my new screen with RainX plastic spray and went for a ride. The next time I went out I noticed a haze, sort of a yellow haze on the windshield.Thinking it's just dusty ,I carefully cleaned the screen making sure to wet it down first so it didn't scratch. Well ,it was't dust .It has a permanent haze.Has anyone else had this problem?
That's why there have been many warnings against using RainX on plexi/acrylic windshields. Don't know if you will be able to remove it though perhaps one of the products designed to restore plastic light lenses might help or it might make it worse.
For future reference most folks use something like Pledge to wax their windshields to make it easier to clean bugs off. Other use Plexis which is designed for windshields. What I've found works best is a web microfiber cloth or if touring clean the windshield first thing in the morning when the dew has softened everything.
