My 2001, PX 150 has 85,200 km. I bought her second with a broken speedometer cable, so I'm not sure whether the kilometers is correct.
A few months ago, I had squeking noise from the rear, whenever the rear wheel moved up and down or when I pushed the rear portion down.
The local shop took a look, framepart that hold the upper portion of rear shock needed some welding, so they welded it using oxyacetylene torch, and the rubber buffer got replaced.
Now the squeaking noise comes back, but not as bad as before. I took of the rear shock and the rubber buffer. The frame looked alright, I don't see any loose frame part or broken welding. No leakage in the old shock. I am almost positive that the previous owner has never replaced the shock before.

I suspect the noise comes from the shock.
Should I replaced the shock absorber? What about the rubber buffer? Is there any other possibilities causing the noise ?
Thanks in advance

get a new shock. Plenty of nice ones better than stock are available. 85k KM is well beyond the original or any shocks useful life.
