Hi hope you can stop me from throwing out a perfectly good scooter!
I brought a vespa et2 from a friend who rode in to me with no problems, I have left it for 4 months waiting for my son to turn 16 !

Now I have got it ready for him, I made the mistake of putting 2stoke oil into the petrol tank followed by unleaded petrol ( the pre mix tank has been removed by previous owner !)
1 I then had issues starting it ( yes I removed all the petrol and oil from the tank )
I changed the choke unit with a differant choke unit same model!
In the end I have brought a new carb, new fuel filter/ vac unit, new spark plug
The bike starts on the button rides great for about 1/2 mike then Boggs out, if I leave the bike for 15 min it's starts again and rides as it should but the same problem occurs
Please help Nerd emoticon

Running too rich?

or

Too much 2stroke in the fuel?

or

Running out of fuel/poor fuel supply?

If you remove the spark plug what colour is the tip? and is it clean looking or oily?

Hi the plug is wet/oily,
Ok I dilute the petrol down, I didn't think it would effect it that much, but I'm going for it
Thank you
I let you know

If it was me i'd drain the fuel tank out completely and swill the tank with a small quantity of neat fuel, the 2stroke oil mix is only 2% to fuel when you refil, the spark plug needs cleaning up with a bit of wire wool too.
