Large assembly of motorcycles in a residential area. Lack of background in the thin sliver of sky suggests the coast. Picture file name helps pin down when.

Taken together there's a strong suggestion of the event and the roof of the building next to the tree confirms it.

Here is another hint: Since it was too cold/foggy this weekend to get the shot I wanted, I relied on archival footage....

BTW, there is computer store that helps with resurrecting laptop HDs, Right Next to Cafe Lambretta!!! Open on Sunday! gotta love it.

I was planning on gettin it yesterday on the way home from work but I got stuck in a business dinner & by the time I left SF it was 9 and it was too dark and I was too tired! Gonna try to go get it today!

The picture of the Ritz hotel on their website verified the location (the small tower in the background) and the rest was easy, but I was worried that I was going to be beaten to it. What fun! I guess I'll have to think of a place now. Probably still in the South bay. Watch this space.

I've just returned from my picture taking mission. I have three shots, all within 20 miles of my home. Which one to choose? Whichever one it is, I'm afraid it's gonna be a longish ride for you, Dreaded, and all you North Bay types. Anyway, yesterday's ride for me was a 100 mile round trip! So here goes, this one chosen because it's on an entertaining stretch of road.

At this point, I'd put my money on that road backside of Hamilton, Kincaid Rd, I think.

Not it! It's almost due south of where I live (eastern foothills) and about 9 miles as the crow flies. Does that help?

My initial impression was that it was a motocross park. THEN, got confused by the clues, thinking "Lake Cunningham Park". Knew I was close when I saw Bob riding on Tully yesterday . . .

I had no idea where it was, so I just gave up way to go Mike!

Congrats, Mike, I'm glad somebody finally got it! I was afraid my hints would make it too easy, but I guess i was wrong! Now, your new pic, I know I've ridden past that spot, but there are so many like it around here, I just can't place it. I will go hunting tomorrow!

As Mike said . . . Tour . . . as in AMGEN Tour of California.

Those of you who attended Classico Moto Italia 11 this year would recognize it from the Saturday Morning ride from Battlescooter.

Sierra Road, just up from Piedmont road.

Mike and I traversed that road twice to make sure we had every twisty figured out. You see what the result was - a perfectly organized ride (no crashes or anyone left behind) w/ yours truly as the Enforcer/Blocker.

I figured Jester would jam over there before sunset!
Sierra Rd is one of my favorite Southbay runs.
