It is neither any kind of official recycling or parts pull facility...I'd be surprised if you didn't ever pass it on a group ride...not far from where the LGVC Sunday Group Ride went in October....

I haven't lost interest either, but I've been busy entertaining guests from overseas this week. (Not that I have the vaguest idea where the tag place is!) Not a well-known landmark, is it?

The prior clues "termites hate it" and " a deep or precipitous cleft." refer to the name of the road the tag is on.

To the first clue I'll add: It's a kind of wood termites hate...or at least won't eat.

I somewhat rolled the dice in not coming home after capturing the tag to post it. I knew where I wanted to go for the next pic, and since I was already out, and it was SUCH a gorgeous day - I went on!

Without delay, here's the next tag - easy peasey - now just go get it!

Well done Masala! I hope nobody shot at you while you were taking your pic...there's kind of a Deliverance feel to that spot.

No kidding. I just knew that's where it was and I would have gone up there if I had any extra time at all.

In any case, during many beemer rides up that road back in the 80's, I could have sworn a bullet whizzed by my head at least once.

VCLG has ridden over Redwood Gulch many a time. I'm surprised that one of us didn't recognize it earlier. I certainly didn't. I guess the synapses weren't firing fast enough!

Anyway good choice.

I won't be at the Sunday am ride tomorrow, but if any of you are going, maybe a ride to the coast to get the tag en masse is in order.

Well...it's 2:30, and no photo posted yet! Hopefully, that means the group went en masse to get the pic!

Heh. These tags are always absurdly easy or absurdly hard, depending on, of course, whether you've been to the spot before.

Yeah, I made mine obsurdly easy on purpose - just a bit of a haul, because I wanted someone to have a nice ride on the way there. Instead, an entire group got a long ride out of it!

Having only lived in the Bay Area for 3 years, I haven't been down every back alley yet, so most of these have had me initially stumped.

This train is on the road to nowhere.....or maybe anywhere or everywhere....

If you lay with coyotes....you may get up with fleas......

Just give it away!

The only Coyote Creek I could find on Mapsource is near Morgan Hill and the only railroad line runs alongside Monterey Rd, so I rode out there, followed the railroad line past Morgan Hill, but drew a blank! Obviously, I'm on the wrong track! Also, I don't get the "fleas" bit. Fleamarket? Anyway, It got me out and riding on this chilly, foggy day.

Just thinkin' out loud here in case it helps...When you dropped off that book for me, you crossed over Coyote Creek as it's two blocks east of my house...which means it runs a good ways north from Morgan Hill. As far as railroads go, I'm not sure I would call that a railroad so much as some kind of smaller scale materials transport system...and from the looks of the vegitation, it doesn't get much use. I also think there is a fleamarket that runs along Coyote Creek...las pulgas...doesn't that mean fleas too?

BTW, Coyote Creek runs clear out to the Bay. It is a cherished resource in my neighborhood.

Yeah, that's the "real" side. The side off Mabury is new and not as picturesque in my own humble opinion. You can also tell because of that cement plant in the back. I don't think there is anything like that over on Mabury.

Jeff and I got out for a little ride this morning. Lots of fun noodling around town. We picked up some winter gloves at Road Rider, too, so I'll be able to get to work without have two ice cubes for hands.

For me it was Dundalk but Milpitas is closer. Just not as stinky

I knew it... I don't think I can get to it today, though. So strange, as I was going to do my next tag pic there!

It smells like....the former town of Alviso....now part of San Jose, presumably acquired by the city so they can say it touches the Bay. Interesting old building with a curious slogan. The watermark from flooding is what gave it away.
