I think you guys will appreciate this, caution physics ahead,

http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2013/08/22/spark-plugs-to-be-replaced-with-plasma-bursts/

As if "Plasma" production needs assistance from a New product in the naturally occurring "corona discharge" already present in ignition engines.

"Thermodynamics", "Quantum Theory" "Excited State"

Please do your own self study.
Maybe too technical a subject for the forum; lock, delete, of flog at your leisure. It's just the Internet, the place where only 1% of members post anything at all. Laughing emoticon

"improvements in engine power and emissions while lowering fuel economy buy as much as 10 percent."

A direct quote from the article. Laughing emoticon

Damn you're smart...

Where's your office? I need brain surgery.

What? you're not a brain surgeon? ... then can you come over and help me build a rocket?

You'll need to PM me (that'd be "Private Message") as we don't want to overload the non-technically inclined "brains" of the dimwits... the dolts... the ding-dongs.. the dummies that make up "the forum"

FYI.. there are plenty of forum members who are very technically minded... there are plenty of guys here, who I'd be willing to bet, are smarter and more proficient in the technical aspects of these scooters and 2-stroke engines in general than you are.

*I'm not one of those smarter people... but this forum is fortunate enough to have many smart, technically proficient people as members.... so don't assume you're the "smart guy" on a "stupid scooter forum"... Nerd emoticon

Which may explain why the article shows no byline? Perhaps the author deserves credit for taking no credit for his or her writing?

That article is, perhaps, a good commentary on modern day "technical reporting". Plasma plugs are quite an interesting bit of advanced technology, so why not fill reporting space with mindless "copy and paste" material? The world loves "gee whiz" shit.

My guess is that whoever wrote (if it even deserves such a description) the article has no concept of whether the precision of a bit of new technology is beyond the precision of an existing system to be of benefit as a retrofit. Rather, they simply throw this out there as if these new, highly precise ignition systems can deliver such benefit on their own.

But then, I'm just another ignorant internet member.

I found most of the topics on that website requiring a bit of "self study". Just to make an informed decision.

An arsehole is an arsehole which ever way you want to colour it. As soon as you try to polish it then it'll turn brown.
