The old timers will remember the Italy-Germany 1970 game, famously named the "game of the century," semi-final for the FIFA world cup, and played in Mexico City. Some of the great names were (in no particular order): Schnellinger, Beckenbauer, Riva, Rivera, Boninsegna, Müller, Albertosi, Facchetti, Maier ... 4-3 after extra time. That was one epic soccer game for sure.
