shreddies
Hi mate,
If you leave it off you will shread the belt, it's there to keep the variator aligned with the rear pulley Cheers Andy. |

what a crank
Hi mate that "cog" is the crank, and it looks to be in near factory fresh mint condition, the cog shaped wheel that holds the variator plastic fan in place is made from high tensile steel as it is used to turn the engine when the kickstart is engaged, trust me it will not be worn.
Cheers Andy. |

Ok thx
It's just I put some new rollers in which were about 1mm bigger in hight than the others when all assembled and only went 50 yards and it sheered my plastic fan and loosened the holding nut I'm hoping that it don't do the same again thx |

Cheers Andy. |

If its under torqued leave it, please. There's a thread here that shows the consequences of not following andy's advice. Your nice looking crank will be worn smooth if it comes loose again, you are a very lucky your crank survived the first time, the Vespa buddah is watching your back.

leave it out
carl030370 wrote: Thx Andy Am I best leaving it till I get the torq from work or risk driving it to work 14 miles?? Leave it at home, as it could be the dearest 14 mile journey you ever made, a limo chauffeur driven would be cheaper than a replacement crank. Cheers Andy |

Do not ride until the variator nut is torqued to spec. Andy knows what he's talking about.
