After we came to checkpoint 3 the road we were supposed to take was closed should be interesting to see how each rider got past it.

Once locations started showing up it was to be moved to General but most of the photos aren't showing their location.

In the end I repossessed the Sport City from my son. I tried to get the GTS ready but wasn't to be. I only registered with the Scarabeo to preserve options. Didn't know for sure which scoot I'd have until 4pm on the Weds before leaving at 10 the next morning for the start.

Will is here with beer and other beverages, BBQ to be delivered shortly.

This is what some of us arrived in at the end of day 2.

It was great being at check point 2 today and seeing everyone come thru. I had a great time talking to ya'll. Hope everyone has a great rest of your cannonball. Please be safe and post pics when you can.

Feb31st-- I totally expected you'd be riding with your cast boot, but you probably did the adult thing by staying home. Thanks for your narrative of the standings, I could almost hear your voice saying it, except I was visualizing a horse race while you were describing it.

Looks like everyone is waiting this storm out. 2" of rain overnight with serious lightening but it's tapering off now. Roads should be ok by 9-10.

Looks they are out of the gate after the storm delay. I think cdwise (56) is going to do some site-seeing in Nashville.

We are driving through TN this morning and tempted to cut over to the next check point to encourage the riders.

A lot of bad weather moved through this morning with high heat this afternoon. Stay safe everyone. Prayers for safety, and good roads!

Nice to see them all out of the gates at once!

There is an interstate option through Nashville that if you luck out on traffic should be a fast ride!

Between weather, road construction and AbsurdRuse's break down - day 2 really tightened up the competition! If luck is on WLeuthold's side he might gain some points today but doesn't seem like anyone's found any luck so far! At this point I'd put some loot on ClassicRider winning this entire thing.

Piece of cake. Except for that part where I tried to cross the Mississippi River in a tornado.

Most of us waited out the worst of it butBill was an early departed. Some of the roads around Checkpoint 2. My shortcut was a washout literally with 5' of the road I was using as a shortcut had fallen into the culvert. I aka discovered that I can ride the Sport City through 5" of water. Riding through rocks that completely cover the road can cause your GOS to come out of its cradle. That the Garmin 660 can survive a drop at speed.

Saw a couple of riders on HW60 today. Loaded down and making good time. We were hoping to cheer on riders at the La Center check point but had an emergency call that pulled us off course.

It was, legs 1,2 & 4 but my shortcut was a washout. A serious washout that was an impassable sinkhole.

Spent 100 miles in the rain yesterday (without any raingear!) on the way to the hotel in TN. I-40 in those conditions was complete insanity for a while. Followed the slowest vehicle I could to keep a steady track. Once things started to let up I booked it the rest of the way to the hotel because all I could think about was dry clothes, bbq, and beer. Big thanks to my Dad for keeping up with my crazy riding and making sure that no one hit me from behind when there was nearly 0 visibility. Sorry I scared the crap out of you.

This mornings epic thunderstorm woke everyone up and then we all waited it out. Maroy's got an excellent video of it!

Tonight a bunch of us went to get frozen custard from this place called Andy's. Still a bit hot out so we had to eat them quickly, but so good! The little ride from the hotel to the custard stand was great too! Nice back roads with some twists and turns and a gorgeous sunset in my mirrors.

More thanks to everyone here for cheering all of us on! We all appreciate it.
