At least you know the bearings have been lubricated.Don't worry ,grease is your bearings friend. Just wipe excess off. It's not unusual when the bearings have been relubricated at the last sevice.

I just came back from a Trip from Atlanta, GA to Memphis, TN and back.
I did about 2000 miles that week. When I got home, mine looked just as bad.

I typically Add some at the end of the summer when I do Winter Maintenance.
Then the overflow leaks out in the warmer weather.

As someone else posted, at least you had some in there.

Just to add to my previous post, when i bought my used one there was LOADS more grease than yours and i was very glad to see it after all the posts about notched bearings and was also pleased to see that a previous owner had fitted the greasing bolts ,which was the first job i had on my list to do.

Shows that Piaggio don't put a proper seal under the bearing. But its very much better to have grease leaking out rather than water and road dirt splashing in.
