I do remember now getting that sort of beep when I had an intermittent connection to the Dash Panel once. There is a post on youtube on MP3 Beeps, let me see if I can find it. If I do, I will come back and update here. Keith |

Was the bike ok BEFORE you fitted the new starter relay?
If so i was going to say that there are some starter relays ,certainly on the gilera fuoco and i assume the mp3 500 that i've seen on ebay and i have bought one that look the same except that the fuse is in a different position. THESE ARE WIRED DIFFERENTLY. ⚠️ Last edited by 3legsofman on UTC; edited 1 time

You have blown the parking ECU i think you missplaced the + and - on the battery or starter relay

Ouch ! That's not Cheap... Retail US Dollars is around $475.00 A few on ebay. Be sure to verify your part number, I believe these will work. Get ready to take all the Body Parts off the bike to get to it. It is sandwiched near the Parking Brake ABS and the Fender Well ABS. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Piaggio-MP3-250-IE-Steering-Anti-Roll-ECU-2009-/122031684125? http://www.ebay.com/itm/09-12-PIAGGIO-MP3-250-STEERING-ANTI-ROLL-ECU-PIECE-/301994739104? I always keep a few spares myself for just in case. Keith, Marietta, GA |

THESE ARE WIRED DIFFERENTLY. ah. my worst fear. ha OK I ordered the OMRON relay from an online Vespa supply store. The markings look identical at the pins, but then I am not familiar with what the markings mean. That must be the nub of my problem! Ordered a new ECU and I think I will order a new relay from the dealer in town, just be sure it is the correct item. I did make one mistake in re-assembly: I did not reverse the polarity at the battery, but I did leave off one of the positive leads to the battery which I discovered and then attached later. I am now well practiced in removing most of the plastic now - ugh thanks for the help guys! |
