Hi, all --

Went out to start my GT200 the other day and it gushed gas all over the place.

I replaced the vacuum hose (which had crumbled) and was planning on the replacing the fuel line and/or fuel tap (the scooter has 17K+ miles) but took out the pet carrier and saw that the line below had been severed.

Questions for you:

1) What exactly is this?
2) How do I replace it?
3) Should I replace the fuel tap and the fuel line, too? (Assuming the tube in the photo isn't part of the standard fuel line replacement.)

Thanks for your help!
Corey

p.s. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. I looked through past posts and didn't find anything specifically related to my problem.

The vacuum line, when it has a vacuum in it, opens the fuel tap so fuel can flow. If you've got fuel leaking out when the engine isn't running then you need to replace the fuel tap. If it only leaks when the engine is running then you need to replace the fuel line going from the fuel tap to the carb. Personally I'd replace all the vacuum lines and all the fuel lines if you can because they're all old now and they fail at some point.

Replace the fuel and vacuum lines and then if it still leaks change your fuel tap. I'm surprised they have lasted this long. I have to replace my lines every 4yrs.

Thanks, Robin and Judy. (As I sidenote, I replaced a line that I thought was the vacuum line but evidently it wasn't.)

That square you drew in the 1st photo is part of your EVAP system.

It is similar to the LX150, and there are some great threads on removing it. I got rid of the EVAP and the SAS on my GT200 while I was replacing the vacuum and fuel lines. Made a world of difference in how the scooter runs.

Sounds great, WB -- thanks for the info. I'll see if I can dig up the threads you're talking about.
