Thought this might have stoked up more interest, given new models n'all. I guess not

Not very clear what's "new".

I want my PX.

Anyway, the idea of a barometric sensor for the ECU scares me. Did I read that right? Is this sensor a first or an upgrade? What will happen when atmospheric pressure fluctuates wildly as it sometimes can? I've had cars that experience performance problems due to 02 sensors and the climate I'm in (this according to the mechanic.)

I am assuming the new GTS will have a version of the iGet engine, what do you think?

More than likely for the gts125 as it does state it's available in a 4 valved lc version. The 'larger models' will probably have a different engine altogether and hopefully will have a true 300cc displacement... Or higher, wouldn't mind!

In Scooter Lab's test of the Medley 125 they mentioned that the iGet would be available in larger capacities, I just wondered if it would end up as a 250 or 300, maybe not!

http://www.scooterlab.uk/piaggio-medley-125-road-test/

GTSRad made a good point, the new engines have the radiator on the outside, if this design feature is on a new 300 engine would the GTS still need to be double skinned?

Good post AWB We do like a bit of speculation. I think the iGET engines and the Medley setup could well be the forerunners of the next GTS spec.

All the hints I've seen are that the performance and emissions will improve for Euro4/5 and you'll get a slight pep in scoot performance overall, but you WON'T see a 300cc+ engine in the GTS replacement...

Surely that depends in how piaggio are getting around the emissions. If we do get a bigger i-get engine then it would be quite funny if its exact same displacement as the old model. Who knows, the Italians may like funky numbers. Anyone know if they're reusing the bores? Would probably answer the question.

-face palm- half asleep, just woke up! Thinking about it, the i-get sounds like an evolution of the 3v engine. Meaning that the quasar bore will probably not fit. But, you cab always hope for a bigger engine no matter how un likely it is

Thats what i did. You can be a right hooligan on the BV which i don' t think is a good thing. Do you not miss the nibleness of the LX? i still enjoy wringing my other halfs LX's neck in the city.

Question for the engineers amongst us. Would the surface area of the radiator for the iGET engines be sufficient for larger displacements? Does anyone else know if this type of radiator design on other engines?

MVer Stormrider gave a very smart insiders view of engine design over in this thread. Smart guy and sounds very plausible that the new GTS design will go with his predictions... 2017 GTS 300 or 350cc ?.

If I move then I'd get a small frame scooter as well 😎 I've got used to the BV350 in traffic though, just have to remember it's s bit longer than the LX!

I just had a test on the new Sprint iget engine.
The engine is nice and smooth and less vibration and has a nice mid range. They added abs finally for the Sprint in Asian market and the electric seat release and usb port.
But one thing they did was revert back to the old front shock and not the ess system on the original Sprint and face lifted GTS.
Didn't feel as sharp in the turns compared to my ess equipped Sprint so it's not worthy of an upgrade in my opinion.

Does come in a beautiful Matt red colour though.

I didn't see this post before I posted above but yes. It's a deal breaker. Find a 2015 Sprint because it handles so much better and feels sure footed.

I'm based in Thailand. It seems the whole world is getting the same spec I'm told. Really disappointing that they would revert back to this set up. It doesn't feel as planted when leaning. Like understeer if that makes sense.
