Modern Vespa

When I finish Motorcycle Tech school in a couple weeks, I plan to take a nice long trip on my scooter. I've got a few ideas, and you can help me choose. See blog post for details and a poll!

Voted, was gonna suggest a ride down rt. 23 in Ma. but I think you you already did that one, with a little stuffed animal in tow. 8)

I've done that one several times actually, with and without stuffed animals. I did that road once with my son on the back when he was 13...that was on my Honda Sabre though.

Coincidentally, if you ever happen to go up that road and see the old Church up on the hill in East Otis, that building was once used by the church my dad pastored up until he passed away over a decade ago. There's some history to that location actually. If you go back the little dirt road beside the church, there's an old burying ground that was part of a grant by one of the English Kings. The land was supposed to be "A church, a school, and a burying ground forever"...but some numbnuts decided to build a house right in the middle of the land. oh well.

To me, it is evident, in your blog post, you have your plan. You mention "perfect" three times. Just go for "perfect"!!! Go with your gut feeling!!!

If I lived on the east coast, I'd go to Italy, rent a scooter, and go explore.

Congrats. Skyline drive is awesome. Only ever did it in a car but well worth it. Went during summer and in the fall. Lived in C'Ville and Richmond so it wasn't far. Watch out for bears tho. We stayed in the cabins up there and one tried to get into our garbage can.

Go to the 1st page header, under "trails" and see the routes listed in the area of Marion,VA, & surrounding states of E. TN, WV, W. NC, S. VA, & my area-E. KY. I ride with these guys that know these routes and ride them often. A riding friend did the preliminaries so this could be listed on their local tourism website. Some of the best riding in the SE USA, guaranteed! For variety, look at routes toward home in WV, many to choose from there.
Hope the fog factor rolls the dice in your favor as a common thing on those mtn drives.
