Next time try posting in the Not So Modern section. Someone will catch this quicker.

Take a look at the image below. There's a small S shaped piece of metal which hooks in the frame. Install the center stand spring, pull the center stand down and then get a spring hook or some kind of hook and pull the spring hard towards the back of the bike. The spring catches on the S hook and you should be good.

Got my center stand repaired with the spring and used a tool to hook the spring and now I am on the road again.
