Hello all,

I am looking to understand Piaggio mp3. Is it is the most safest commuter scooter option ? is it good for cities and affordable?

How many mp3 are sold in US, is it successful and accepted in US market?
I cant find any sales record. Is

Where are mp3s mostly used and which cities are they famous in US? I have seen some in OC and SF.

There are two of us in Folsom, CA. and another two in Roseville CA. I've seen only one other mp3 in the last few years. We mostly have 2009's with a 2008 & 07 in the group. Mine has been the most trouble of them all. I have 27,000 plus miles on mine. I blew the engine at 9,000, basically a cracked piston. I just dropped it off at the dealer again just today since it is throwing both oil and gas.

I would advise you to stay with the newer and hopefully better made units.

Thank you Jorge and mvtroiano

So does it always give engine problem since you have brought it ? is that the reason its not sold?

Is it fun to use it ? What was the reason for buying mp3 ? and Where and for what purpose do you use it ?

Do you guys also have second vehicles ?

My MP3-500 is my DAILY DRIVER. I have a 40 mile total commute. Living in Northern California we have great weather. It rarely rains in the morning, most times in the afternoon , evening or the weekends. It handles the rain like a champ. I will ride my RV250 at times, but the MP3 has the power for the highway, and does tends to draw the looks and people pointing at it.

I drive my cager into work about 3-5 days each year max.

I have a 07 MP3 250ie. I was using it as my weekend bike. I took it in for 8k service and the dealer dropped another bike on it. We are waiting for parts it's been over two months now. Once I get the bike back I'm selling it. Not because the bike is bad, but because dealer support in Denver Sucks! Previously, I put the bike on consignment at this same dealer and they dropped the bike. I was shocked when they talked about replacing tires and they told me they have to order one, I had to correct the service writer on the right tire size. I'm on to a Honda NC700X DCT or a KYMCO People GT300i. The sales department has made several proposals for me to buy a bike, I told them with this level of service I couldn't purchase a bike from them. Waiting for parts in Denver.

I happen to come across this documentation that was from the Early Announcement of the 2016 MP3/500 ABS Sport. This may answer a few of your questions.

I have been absent for many years from the forums but I find the MP3 Fun and exciting to ride. Just started riding mine again after 2 years in storage. I have taken road trips to San Fran and San Diego on mine. Very Comfortable on the road.
