Hi, Can someone please enlighten me on the correct stand brackets fitted to a Vespa Rally and also how they should fit.
I've just removed mine to do some work and something isn't right.

The engine side has a longer 'double humped' bracket that I assumed was to help distribute the weight on the engine side, but when I look at EVERY website selling brackets this style is only offered as a replacement for a t5 or PX, never a rally.

On comparing them side by side the width and height where it holds the stand in place is different.
Any advice would be very handy, and any pictures you have of the 'factory fitted' brackets used on your Rally would be good too

thank you in advance,

trojac

I'm not at my scoot right now but hopefully someone can snap a pic for you.

Just going off of memory, I think the extra hump is for the bracket on one side of the P-series center stand (circled below).

Thanks for the reply, are you saying those double hump brackets were ONLY used on P-range or other Vespa's but never on a rally.
It just doesn't seem to have a good fit on a standard 20mm stand, regardless of what scooter it's fitted to, or are they supposed to have play in them , it looks wrong to me.
Does anyone have one of these brackets on a Rally and is it a loose fit?
The one thing I will say it it seems well made and not some 3rd party part

That center stand is made for a P. The extra section circled in red on that stand is for the rubber stopper.

The correct way is to add this center stand and two small brackets. You have one large bracket and one small bracket. I hope this helps.

MJRALLY is correct about the purpose of the extra bump. P-Series came with a more robust i.e. larger diameter center stand at 22mm vs. 20mm, the rally and all other Large Frames (to my knowledge) came with a thinner diameter, I can't attest to small frames or wide frames though.

Ok that seems to settle it I guess, someone has at sometime fitted a p-series bracket on, why I will never know.
From all the ads I've looked at you can only get 20mm stands for a rally ( and that should be like the original one), it needs two brackets like the smaller one in my picture, and there is nothing used to reinforce the fitment.
RMS make a replica stand that sell for around £15 and new brackets are available from around £5.
If anyone has any recommendations on good quality replacements, stand/feet/brackets other the RMS ones I mentioned then please let me know.
I assume piaggio don't supply these bits anymore but please let me know if I'm wrong.
Thanks for you help

The Pascoli stands are very high quality. Nice zinc plating like the originals. We have one. Worth the price.

I've just been looking at these stands, I need to get a price for the stand, feet and new brackets but I'm guessing it'll be three times the cost of the RMS by the time you add on postage

I love having a vintage vespa!

Thanks for all your help

Double check but I seem to remember the Pascoli stand came with brackets. You will have to order boots separately though. Again, worth the extra cost IMO.
