Hi Guys! Just bought my first PX150 and i noticed that the speedometer is not working at all. Had a couple of run for the past few days and still not working. I was told that vespa's aren't suppose to be pushed backwards/reverse. I push it backwards for atleast 3meters from where i usually park. Hope to hear any tips.. Cheers!

This is true, the only time they should be pushed backwards is off a cliff.

Just kidding, you can push it backwards all the way to Thrifty for a 10-cent ice cream if you so desire.

Don't worry about the speedo, it would probably just start lying to you as well anyway.

Seat cable correctly in the gear on the front hub. It is retained by a small bolt. You need a thin long 8mm spanner on most models.

Probably a broken speedo cable. Mine breaksif it I think about it too hard.

Easy to fix, but you should probably find a YouTube video or some instructions so you don't drop the speedo cable nut down the fork or other avoidable errors.

First things first. Whomever told you that vespas aren't suposse to push backwards/reverse is an absolute imbecil/idiot.

There is no damage to push the scooter backward.

As far is the speedo not working? there are 3 component that could go wrong: plastic gear in the hub, inner cable or speedometer itself.

You can Tshoot all 3 components in no time. do this:

1) Disconnect cable from hub, turn wheel and look inside on the hub to see if the gear moves or not.
2) Undo the head light or head set to gain access to your speedo, disconnect cable from speedo. Turn the wheel and see if the cable moves
3) If the cable moves then the problem is internal to the speedo

Last but not least, please remind whomever told you that you can go backwards that he/she is an imbecil/idiot
