As I've passed 6K on my GTS, realized I'm due for some maintenance, or so I thought. The Wiki states 6K, but just downloaded the manual for the 2015 GTS that seems to be using a 10K mark instead. First time I'd seen that. Did they move the goalposts?

Another question about this service...appears that I should be replacing rollers. I've got my oil change supplies sorted, but looks like I'll need to get some new rollers...and will also need clutch and variator holding tools. It looks like I can use my LX clutch holding tool, correct?

Am I missing anything, supply-wise?

Go ahead and get the GTS specific variator holder from Scooterwest. You'll want to replace the belt, rollers, guides and the variator nut (to be safe). Don't forget to clean out your cvt cover air filter while you're at it.

I wouldn't go much further than 6k

Edit: Yes, the clutch holder interchanges

Belt, really? I see a 9K interval recommended in the wiki, Greasy has 6-8K.
The latest GTS (2015) manual in the wiki states 15K.

Not one to stretch things out, but seems a bit premature... I know there are different opinions, rationales, but it seems like even the manuals aren't sure what to recommend.

Could be improvements of belt materials over time, or just plain old experience, that causes the maintenance intervals to be longer. Take the long term switch to synthetic oils as an example.

You need to look a little closer at the table of scheduled service intervals. The 10k number is in kilometers which is the same as 6K miles. Likewise, 15 K for belt replacement is kilometers as well. The equivalent in miles is 9K. My owners manual (2015 300 ABS) lists the intervals in both miles and kilometers in the table on page 155. You may have downloaded a European version of the manual from Jim's site which showed the intervals only in kilometers.

Ah, thanks Dooglas. You beat me. Was driving back from my mom's today and this popped into my mind.....I was aware of the km/mile differences, but still got mixed up. Started this when I was exhausted last night, and checked back in before the coffee kicked in this morning. Didn't help much.

I'm due for an oil change now, looks like I can chill for a couple thousand (erm, miles) for the rest. 8)
