NSSR: Not specifically scooter related:
I'm always thinking about places to eat, which essentially are places to ride the scooter towards! I do a fair amount of traveling as well to lesser known locales. I would love to hear about some eateries that are little or less known all around the US and the world even, so when I do get to travel I can check out someplace recommended, rather than rely on Google Maps to find my next meal or treat.

So I will start with a place I really like here in the Delta (not specifically in the City of Sacramento): Giustis restaurant. www.giustis.com
Now I see it has been on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives but I think it's still pretty unique. They have great fried chicken and big steaks with blue cheese on top, all on the California Delta in an old wood framed building.

And here is a place I would love to try out if I find myself in Nebraska sometime: Laura Lee's Double L Country Store and Cafe. I spotted the ad for this place randomly on someone's Facebook and the milkshake photo made me click. Any Nebraskans been here?

How bout you all? Where should I eat and what should I order? Extra points if it's a great ride to get there. If you should find yourself in Sacramento with a scooter I highly recommend riding the river road, through the Delta and farmland.

One of the ones I like is Tres Primos, a small Mexican Restaurant a couple miles from us in Small town of Elbridge, NY. I can't comment on it being Authentic Mexican as I've never been to Mexico but others have said it is the best place in Central NY for Mexican.

If you can go by Yelp reviews, out of 24 as of today only 3 were less than 5 stars. As anyone who reads online reviews there are always a few people who would complain if you handed them a gold brick for free, It's too heavy, it has fingerprints on it.......

In North East Ohio is a drive-in called Swensons. They have the absolute best burgers I have ever had.

A half pound burger with cheese is especially delicious. You get to really taste the flavor of their patties. Pair it with either deep fried zucchini or broken onion rings. Enjoy it with a drink they call a California, it's basically ginger ale and grape soda with a hint of lemon. But it is oh so good.

And then finally finish off with and of their milkshakes. Seriously so good.

It's probably been featured in a lot of media over the years because it is delicious, but I personally feel like it is something everybody should try at least once.

Just don't be like my girlfriend and order a hotdog. Razz emoticon

A little Chinese place called "Yen's" in Charlotte that has since closed. They served a dish called Plum Beef that I have never been able to find anywhere else. Very thinly sliced beef fried, tossed in a yummy plum sauce(not the crap you get at the grocery store) and served on a bed of shredded lettuce.

The Joel Palmer House in Dayton, Oregon. Located in an 1857 farmhouse in Oregon wine country. Joe's wild mushroom soup is beyond belief! The candy cap mushroom crème brulee is also pretty darned good.

Oh God Purzell-why did I have to read this after getting a great meal at a little Vietnamese place in Charlotte that I love called Pho Cali... Te's Place in Rock Hill, SC ain't bad either for authentic Vietnamese.

I'm a Southerner and we love us some smoked critter. My Buddy Dan the Pigman, a caterer in York, SC is hard to beat. Red Bridge's BBQ in Shelby, NC is a great little Southern treasure and Lexington Number two in Lexington, NC has that Eastern BBQ sauce that a lot of folks like better. The Beacon in Spartanburg, SC is amazing-get the Chili Cheese-a-plenty and it will reform your bathroom routine for six months. Just amazing onion rings. Best sweet tea in the South.

Mac's Speed Shop in Charlotte is still great for pulled pork, mac-and-cheese and absolutely the best St. Louis beef ribs I've ever had. Dreamland in Tuscaloosa ain't bad for smoked pork. I asked for a green vegetable there once and they served me a bowl of pickles.

I use to travel a lot and loved to hit some of the famous spots in Texas for smoked meat. The City Market in Lulling, TX is by far the best Texas BBQ I have ever tasted. The beef is amazing and the very best sausage I have ever put in my mouth. A trip through their smokehouse room to order your meat is an experience that you'll never forget. But don't forget to vote for the Thump Queen!

Oh-and if you are headed to Charleston, SC-make sure you find Bowen's Island on the way to Folly Beach and get you some fresh oysters, steamed just minutes from being cleaned from the boat. Amazing, amazing place that still has great food despite being "found" by the regular public.

Now, i could go on...

Having been through Truchas a few years ago, I was trying to remember anything restauranty and came up blank. There was a rather odd convenience store though. Rancho de Chimayo was a great place and would be an awesome stop. 8)

Here in Madison there are a couple local restaurants that my wife and I frequent.

First is Dobhan, which has an excellent trout scrambler or smoked salmon eggs benedict for breakfast and for dinner, a variety plate of hummus and flat bread or (ok, AND) lamb kabobs.

Then there is Blue Spoon, an informal spot out in Sauk City a nice ~30-35 minutes ride from home. Makes a perfect stop on a weekend morning ride. And fuels us up so that morning ride can extend to a day long ride.

I prefer Original Pancake House for its no "fake food" menu. All real cream, butter, maple syrup. My other fave is a new in this area, called "Old Chicago" for their pizzas and brews. In Ft. Worth, there's the "Chimera", also for it's brews and food and "Pappas Burgers" for its (you guessed it)!

Thick red chili sauce? Mexicans know how to do that. Damn Im hungry........

Ima rip this one up. Yummy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobada

"Historically, before refrigeration, the pork was fermented in red chile in a crock using the same bacterial cultures as in yogurt (but it is not dairy). Fermented meat was a way of preservation and imparted a "sour" taste to the pork which explains why modern New Mexican adovada recipes call for a bit of white vinegar."

West coast recommendation: Montalcino Ristorante in Issaquah, WA was one of the singular best meals of my life. Amazing food and wine and there was even a guy with a guitar singing Italian songs and serenading tables while there. (not pushy or tacky guitar playing - classy). Was amazing.

My middle of the country - 4 Olives in Manhattan, KS. Amazing food and wine and the last place I expected to find a restaurant that easily equals and in most cases bests the best that NYC has to offer.

East Coast... Sunday Brunch at La Croix in Philadelphia. Insane. I have no words as you have to experience it. This probably isn't little known....it's well known, but still ridiculous and if you haven't hears of it, you need to seek it out. Le Manhattan Bistro in Wilkes-Barre is really good too. Westmoreland Club is insane but it's a private club.
