Sorry about the funeral and next time do give me a shout. Best scampi on the planet. Near that truck the local butcher has a truck with the best hotdogs on the planet. Pricey but very good. Hand made and no preservatives.

Judy: I remember Giovanni's. It was delicious!! Are there any Airb&B's near you? Maybe it is high time for another visit. and to Nico's as well.

Anyone interested in dried red or green chile from NM let me know. seriously. I am at the Santa Fe Farmer's market almost every Saturday and would be happy to pick up some and mail it to you. on the Red you can have mild, medium or hot. Green usually mild or hot.

or we can mail you some chile and you can make your own!!

Its great for rubs, sauces and mixed in with a little brown sugar and spread on bacon!!! YUP.... or come visit me and let's go restaurant hopping!!

I know a ton of good restaurants but most are well known to the food crowd. However, here in Ogden, we have two amazing Japanese restaurants. Hanamaru does authentic Japanese cuisine like no other. I have been to Japan and their food is spot on. The place fits your thread perfectly because it's in a house, behind a grocery store on a side street.

Tona is another local place but it is very well known and packed every night. AMAZING sushi with a very creative take on the food but not in theme with the thread.

My mom is going to Pittsfield in a couple weeks! I will tell her. Too bad I'm not going too.

It's on Tyler Street. The neighborhood looks a little sketchy, but it is ok. The food is great, and it is family run.

If your mom is looking for something a bit more upscale, she can also look into the Dream Away lodge in Becket, MA. But she'll need reservations for that as the out-of-towners really flock to that one during the summer.

Dream A Way lodge is awesome. Their pear sorbet is to die for. TG did you see the write up in Oprah's magazine a few years ago? Even she likes it. I love Angelina's subs. When i go back to visit i always stop in to have a Ham and Cheese sub. Grew up on them. LA F is a good restaurant also. I'm also still partial to the Red Lion Inn is Stockbridge. Many memories there. My parents took me there when i was 4. First upscale restaurant (sat in the main dining room not the tavern). Now i'm homesick. Y-Not if your mom has a car and time she should try and get to the Dream A Way lodge. It's a drive (i get lost) but well worth it. Reservations are a good thing unless you eat early.
