Hi all! First time poster so I hope this post is in the appropriate location.

I just got a used 2005 Typhoon 50 and noticed this hose on the underside covered in what appears to be oil. Now I've read that since it's a 2 stroke engine that oil regularly gets out and covers the motor or other things. I'm not even sure what this hose does really. I'm just wondering if this is normal for my machine or if this is a sign that I should have it professionally inspected.

Thank you for your input and let me know if you need further pictures or details.

overfill spill
Hi, welcome to the forum.
The pic you posted is the 2t oil tank, and looking at it the oil has dripped down the side from a probable overfill in the past.
Cheers Andy

Check to see where that leak is coming from....A friend seized up his engine, when his dipping oil tank ran out of oil on his Typhoon....It tends to leak at either the hose or at the oil tank....Get rid of that hose clamp, and put in a worm type clamp, and check to see if the leak stopped....It looks like to me, the tank fitting to the tank, looking like it needs to go up a bit, and retighten the big clamp...That is where my friends leak was. Do not put in a air bubble on that oil hose.....

Either fix it, or block it off, and run premix....Now!
