Found out I waited too long to get the cylinder out of my P to mail to Hot Rod Al - he's all booked through the end of the year and not taking any more scooter business.
I have two paths forward on the P - if I stay with the stock cylinder I need 0.75mm milled from it to get to 1.5mm squish. If I go this route I'll also toss on some new rings and get a fresh hone on the cylinder, cuz why not? I installed the Pinasco kit to see what's required if I want to run that. 4mm squish!!! That sucks. The head has a huge standoff, about 1.75-2mm. I can probably get the whole thing down near 2mm if I run a MMW 0 standoff head from SIP and no base gasket, but I'm thinking the right way is to get the new head and get some taken off this cylinder so I can run a base gasket and also get closer to ideal squish. So I'm now looking for someone to mill cylinders. I have one local recommendation, anyone know of something either (a) local to San Diego or (b) willing to take mail order and does good work like Hot Rod Al always has? |

Finished the windscreen for the GS. Came out better than I expected and the measurements are almost perfect. I should have brought the sides down a lot lower but it's hard to see how it will all fit till you have it on there.

After ordering the Kytronik 2016 model and having them botch the run and refund our orders, I ordered a Kepher unit yesterday instead. Now their site says Sold Out and I see I have a refund from them in my Paypal account. Grrr.... Now what??

Given these are 175cc max, most of the people on this ride know that scooters are just as capable and many also own scooters. I was just happy to be able to take the GS as my MotoBi still needs a new head.

Ah. There is a similar event run here that is open to much bigger bikes, I was assuming it was like that.
Put up some photos and video from the trip and Mille here - The Australian Classic Scooter Mille 2016 |

De-bodgery debauchery! After all the structural and mechanical checks and fixes, I'm getting to the fun stuff. The bike's story is detailed in another post. Installed a new SIP Road 2.0, tires, wheels, floor mat, fender and cowls, trim, fork...and my new Vietnamese license plate! I don't want to fully hide it's old life! Have a great weekend.

Covered bridges had roofs to protect the beam support structure and planks from the elements.

Lake Placid is the area I grew up in, Jay to be precise. There was an old covered bridge that we used to jump off into the Ausable River. It got washed away after a cold winter and the ice flow took it out! They replaced it with a walking bridge.
