How useful would it be though? If you're building from scratch and looking for lots of power wouldn't you opt for a 200-based setup rather than one that only goes to 172 (think that's the size of Malossi cylinder for T5)?
In the article they mention motorcycle cylinder conversions... this at first glance looks like the only advantage. |

Trying my hand at a cylinder design for the MotoBi. Mostly to figure out the CAD organization than to get a working cylinder at this point.
Goal would be to have a modern-ish 5 port layout with fins that look just like the original. ![]() |

I'm trying to setup the ports so I can go in and change the size and angle in the cad file and have the change propagate through the rest of the design. |

Sign me up for one! A modern cylinder with "tea cup handles" for transfers would be amazing!

GPS'd 71 mph on the Yellow Super! Not sure I want to go faster without better brakes.
modkuo: FYI, there's a shortcut (actually a bike path) that runs under the freeway and connects Friars Rd to Murphy Canyon Rd. Saves about 1/2 an hour. Or take Friars to Linda Vista to Genesee. |

Dropped off my P200 cylinder at a shop I found in Escondido for milling and honing. Guy seemed nice, hopefully I can recommend them when it comes back. Little shop doing motorcycle and ATV work, seems like a match. He said he could cut me an o-ring groove in a cylinder head too if I need it (I brought a HRS head as an example). Hoping this works out as Al stopped doing work.

Hoping this works out as Al stopped doing work. Meanwhile, some vacation pics from a week plus on my wife's beautiful Ionian island, Kefalonia: ![]() We were greeted by two and a half days of heavy rain, then cloudy, foggy and windy some days and glorious sunshine some days too. A few days were even hot at midday. ![]() The red one is my nephew's and the brown 50S was recently brought back to life w/ a Primmy crank & top end, some port work( Cannot recommend... , the 2nd motor that was split ), 90/100 primaries, 19 carb on a Polini reed intake and a Simonini kidney noisemaker. ![]() Putzed w/ timing and tried bigger jets while waiting for weather to improve. Motor was not making & maintaining good power. ![]() Weather better so goat tail test run, 98 jet works better but still too ragged at WOT. Go bigger. ![]() 103 main jet seems to be the sweet spot, pulls well down low and winds out clean when it finally 'gets on the pipe'. ![]() The roads here are amazing on a scooter, many w/fairly new pavement. Lots of up and down with sweeping curves and some hairpins too. Like the steep road down to Myrtos beach. That's a long ways down there, you can see some of the road. ![]() Sunny just warm w/ a breeze, beach is empty. No problem hauling both wifey & myself back up from the beach, with 2nd gear in the hairpins, 3rd gear most of the way and even a little 4th. Better pics here, find your way back up to the village but careful of those hairpins - https://goo.gl/maps/PEno1PvEJyR2 |

Thanks Ginchy, but being gone & offline I missed your post on the 1000 K run. I think I might have logged 100 K all together, maybe a bit more but definitely much slower. I do like your classy spare tank w/ gauge, nice work! ![]() |

Got my P200 cylinder back. 0.030" taken off the top and a fresh hone job.
Installed it with fresh rings. Squish is still a bit more than I'd like at 1.9mm but the compression is at 165, so I'd say we're maxed out. I was trying to guess conservative on the squish so I wouldn't screw up the compression too much. We'll see how it does this week sometime. |

Yesterday, was eating lunch in Cardiff and saw a maroon-colored Series 1 Lambretta going up the 101. There's something you don't see every day. Not with a group, just someone and a passenger enjoying a scenic ride.
