There's always the possibility of workshop calamity… You could still make the Urgent care for Xmas!

I've already managed to weld something without starting any fires on myself or otherwise, but the day is young! Maybe I'll clean the gutters...
Of course, I actually *did* wind up in the ER one Christmas Eve when I was in college for perhaps the dumbest injury ever: I broke my hand putting on my coat.
Now I know what you're thinking...CM, I know that accidents seem to track you down like trouble finds a retired action hero, but A COAT??? and you would not be entirely wrong. I was putting my coat on at the top of the stairs in my parents' house and my hand got caught in the sleeve for a moment. I gave it a little extra oomph to get it through...and punched the square corner of a banister post.
Yeah, it hurt, but I didn't think too much of it, being young, bulletproof and, in typical personal fashion, having done no Christmas shopping yet with like two hours until the malls closed.
So I head off to the mall, my dad came with me to get out of the house, and as I shopped, my hand is getting bigger and bigger until it's so swollen it looks like I have an inflated rubber glove on the end of my arm. Despite all that, I finished my shopping and on the way home, by dad says, "We should probably get that looked at before we head home."
So we roll up to the ER, eventually the doctor came in and took one look at it, pronounced it broken, no x-ray required, wrapped it up and told me to take Tylenol for the pain. I didn't even get any good pain pills for Christmas.[/i]
