Thanks! I'm probably good for happy, will go best effort on safe.

I've already managed to weld something without starting any fires on myself or otherwise, but the day is young! Maybe I'll clean the gutters...

Of course, I actually *did* wind up in the ER one Christmas Eve when I was in college for perhaps the dumbest injury ever: I broke my hand putting on my coat.

Now I know what you're thinking...CM, I know that accidents seem to track you down like trouble finds a retired action hero, but A COAT??? and you would not be entirely wrong. I was putting my coat on at the top of the stairs in my parents' house and my hand got caught in the sleeve for a moment. I gave it a little extra oomph to get it through...and punched the square corner of a banister post.

Yeah, it hurt, but I didn't think too much of it, being young, bulletproof and, in typical personal fashion, having done no Christmas shopping yet with like two hours until the malls closed.

So I head off to the mall, my dad came with me to get out of the house, and as I shopped, my hand is getting bigger and bigger until it's so swollen it looks like I have an inflated rubber glove on the end of my arm. Despite all that, I finished my shopping and on the way home, by dad says, "We should probably get that looked at before we head home."

So we roll up to the ER, eventually the doctor came in and took one look at it, pronounced it broken, no x-ray required, wrapped it up and told me to take Tylenol for the pain. I didn't even get any good pain pills for Christmas.[/i]

Bleh.

Accelerator pump diaphragm was clocking out too, so I pinched one front from a Naraku CVK18 and tweaked the pump arm slightly to make it work.

Now to get fresh fuel and a new filter.

Back in the game. Seems to be a lot smoother and refined with the re-jet and accel pump fix. Acceleration is really deceptive; it moves out much better than the engine note suggests. Sorta thinking about doing some CVT tuning and fixing up the bodywork more, but I need to keep reminding myself that this is just a loaner scoot.

Greasy would love the last pain. I'd ordered a new kill switch, since the original one was sun-baked and working intermittently. Sourced a NOS part, with the same part code and it didn't work. Popped it apart to compare with the original and found a different set of contacts inside. Swapped parts around and we're back in business. I used to say that Riva 180s were like having an old Jag, but I could see the Aprilia stealing that crown...

Finally got my orders in so I finished up some winter projects on the scoots.

Finished putting the 150cc cylinder on the 62 Allstate and added a bag hook. However after kicking over the engine to make sure she works after the swap I have no brake light or headlight. Horn and tail light both work though. I'll start tracking that down soon.

On the 59 Allstate I finally got the speedo button from SIP so I can hopefully re set that up. Also added a bag hook to that frame as well. Didn't check that one to make sure the lights still work though…
My luck they'll be blown too.

Any ideas why, if the 62 Allstate bulbs are just blown, that keeps happening? It's got a VAPE ignition now so it shouldn't be blowing bulbs like it was still a 6v setup. This is the second time the brake light has gone out on me, I replaced the bulb and haven't kicked it over until today after the cylinder swap. Not sure why it keeps going out. I did stretch the wire harness a bit when swapping the cylinder by swinging the cases down with the suspension bolt removed. I had to pull the harness through the frame a bit more when I did that as it got quite tight.
150cc top end is installed and torqued and all good to go.

Wheres the voltage regulator and did you ground it? I've had to add an extra ground as grounding to the frame gave me nothing but headaches.

Same set up as my 59 Allstate. Regulator is under the tank attached to a glovebox cowl bolt. Sanded down to bare metal to attach the ground. I'll have more time next week after new years when the kids are back in school to go down that rabbit hole. I'll double check all the grounds while I'm in there.

I knew TVS makes motorbikes and large wheel scooters big time in India, but today I learned that they also make a modern version of the Ape or Tuk Tuk, and sell it knocked down, stood up on end on a small pallet all ready for you to assemble with simple tools!

That fork itself looks mighty familiar, but the linkage & hydraulic drum brake does not. Looks to have 8" wheels too!

Definitely NSR. Started some sewing yesterday and finished today. Shit quality Toyota steering wheel, started flaking year one, not covered by warranty since it's cosmetic. Got me a cover from Ali for 16€ including shipping, I was really impressed of the quality of the faux leather and work. Comes as a complete kit with needles, thread, double-sided tape and instructions that hurt my eyes though ROFL emoticon ROFL emoticon ROFL emoticon

I shouldn't have been bothered since it's a work lease but I just couldn't live with it anymore...

Still waiting for my new replacement car since we're past due the 4 years lease time but Toyota's current delivery rate is a year+++ from order...
