It does. It's maybe even more recessed than the stock carb.

I still think Bogart would be an excellent name for your Lammy, but as the saying goes, you can't change the name of a ship, only its reputation.

I also installed a 5 plate clutch and, naturally, ordered the wrong exhaust. I now know that the Quattrini needs a non-standard exhaust fitting/flange. I was able to borrow something that sort've worked from one of my clubmates, though, so I can keep the work rolling.

I ordered an appropriate exhaust, the Gori M-210-TV (https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/racing-exhaust-gori-m210-tv_22088000), pretending that I understand neither the Sunk Cost Fallacy nor what "money" is, plus two day shipping since I'm still imagining I can be riding by Saturday.

This was the first start attempt, and ignition timing is waaaay off. It's a variable Vape, and I'd guess it's less than 10 degrees BTDC, so any time it retarded from the idle time, it immediately misfired.

I started with a PWK 34 carb, but it's too large, so I've already swapped for a PWK-28 that was on my shelf (and is Quattrini's recommended size).

And for added comedic effect, I had probably 10% mix in my test tank, so nice n' smoky.

Looks like you'll you'll have it completed by the 8th!

I'm just getting prepped for my time amongst the lammies.

By the time I killed the motor, you could barely see across the workshop.

Tonight, I checked ignition timing, remembered to check squish (right at 1.5, like the instructions call for ), installed the new fuel tap, mounted the regulator & CDI, fully installed the PWK28, and installed the offset cones on the motor swingarm bolt wrong. dropped the motor and installed them wrong again. dropped the motor and finally installed them right on the third try.

Tomorrow will be connecting up clutch/gear/rear brake cables, then ideally the electrical finished off.

Hopefully SIP will actually ship my exhaust, too. Otherwise, I'll be fabricating a custom mounting bracket for the loaner exhaust and starting carb tuning for it.

Next video iteration was the PWK 28 with the idle screw way too far in and 3% gas from the tank thanks to the new tap, so about 90% less smoke, but 100% more of my second trademark move (after fires and explosions), the exhaust falling off.

I swear I'll put up some process pics soon. All I can say is that the Spaniards didn't do it quite like the Italians.

In all seriousness - race smallies often cut a hole in the side of the frame to get more air to the carb, or even end up with an air filter out of that hole they cut. It is air constrained in that tunnel, for sure.

No video tonight, but I finished up the electrical, hooked up the cables, and actually had the Lammy on the road this evening.

Meanwhile, my pipe shipped, but I fabricated an adapter plate that let me use the Casa Performance tuned pipe I borrowed for a couple days.

Short summary, especially given that the PWK28 is still stock jetting, is that it RIPS. It's not Boo-Badge fast, but it's definitely on par with the GL, which is about what I was expecting power-wise.

Still some tweaking to do around the edges, including carb tuning, but I'm over the hump with this one.

Helped a good friend dismantle his first italian made scooter, a 1958 Sears Allstate. We broke it down to a bare frame, so he can weld and patch up the rotten floor tunnel area; while preserving as much of the current paint as possible. It has the original blue paint, under a well done older respray in red. This scoot came from the second owner here in Oregon, and included the old registration papers and records from the original owner, and an OG Oregon plate!

I love these split headset models, and it was nice to wrench on one again. This one will stay bone stock with the piston port 125 engine, points, and even the pogo stick fork. Then engine has great compression and should run with bit of attention. It will be fun helping to preserve and get this machine back on the road again.

I've had a bit of a break from scooter stuffs, due to life and living; so it was nice getting a bit of extra motivation by helping a friend.

Good stuff.

Jesse, did I see you were selling a wide frame on one of the FB groups?

Maybe post a link in the DoD thread! Solid deal and maybe some MV NSMer would be interested.

Nice Substitution Jitsu there.

Meanwhile, John is wondering where the log came from.

So last night, in addition to getting the Oi!L minimally on the road for the first time post-rebuild, we got a clubmate's Lambretta Special going, too, which had been a frustrating couple of weeks.

It had been incredibly frustrating because we'd put a new Mugella top end on it and everything checked out: port timing, squish, ignition timing, carb, spark. Everything checked out, it just. didn't. start.

Now to add to they mystery, immediately after the rebuild, it started and ran great. Buddy parked it for a few days and the next time he tried to start it, nothing. Not even with starter fluid. Weird.

Turned out that the stator had gone bad. What I'd missed, but another clubmate noticed (maybe his eyes are better than mine...maybe it's because he was working with less ambient light) was that while the spark was consistent, it was not consistently blue and was jumping around the plug. He slapped a spare stator in that he had handy and the bike started first kick.

So it was two-for-two wins on the evening, plus the valuable troubleshooting lesson that not all sparks are equal, even when they're present.

Next frustration is that while my new exhaust is "shipped," it's still sitting on the dock at SIP.
