It's getting to the good time of the year to paint in a outside rig like that. Cool, dry, sunny days are the best!

Almost like you planned that! The eyelashes set it all off. Reminds me a bit of the 80's.The first big part I painted turned everything blue in the makeshift paintbooth/bathroom at my work.

Getting the band Minarelli back together. Should get the rebored cylinder and piston back this week. In the interim, I have bolts to clean and a seal set to find.
It'll look great on the coffee table once assembled. Then it'll probably bug me until I get the chassis sorted. Chassis is getting tapered bearing races modified to suit before going to powdercoat.

So after my two steps forward (successful rally ride route plan, Riverside painting completion), I had a bit of a step back...went to go to the grocery store and realized there was Riverside blue overspray on the car. Facepalm emoticon

So I spent a couple hours cleaning that off. I'd say I got 95% of it using acetone and microfiber cloths, which may have to be good enough.

Not my best move.

Ouch! When I used to paint houses, the boss missed sealing up a garage vent. My job was only shooting paint, no prep. The black Jeep Comanche truck with matching shell in the garage was covered in white paint. Boss said it was my fault, I told him to pound sand and continued spraying. Took him a day and a half to clean it off.

Saturday when I sprayed my frame, I noticed a funky hair sticking out from between the top of the horncast and frame. We have different types of tweezers in the booth for picking out junk that gets in the paint between coats. Game changers.

Been there, done that. I've rebuilt a lot of Honda engines while working at a Honda dealer back in the early 70s. My first thought when I saw that was "I bet I could assemble that, even all these years later".

Been there, done that with a very similar situation. But my friend knew i had automotive painting experience so he begged me to remove all the white speckles off of three different cars that the rest of his crew oversprayed. I spent three full days spiffing up those cars outside in the cold winter time rain up here in oregon. It was a VERY unpleasant job.

At my job (hospital) I spotted a rolling cabinet in the basement that was waiting for the dumpster truck...

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

The top is covered in small residues of sticky plaster that has eaten the plastic surface ! Plus a lot of acetone drops through the years of service... A drawer is stuck. No keys for the lock

Took the thing apart, all panels are riveted, no screw, very solid construction.

Fixed the issue with the drawer, sanded the top then applied 2 coats of 2k Raptor liner, et voila !

A brand (almost) new tool cabinet !

Also installed a new lock

Top marks! Nice save.

Only fault is in the removing of the Cardic Shocka sticker.
(Hmmm. Maybe we need to get one of those for Chandlerman.)
