Hmmm. I had a better look and they list the output of the Modcharger as 1 amp @ 12v. So not sure how well it would power a horn then... the matress inflator would have to pretty small too.

What about an air horn? This one says it's 115db. You pump it up with a bicycle pump.

This time I made it about 300m before it flopped off again. Time to ride the rally instead. Laughing emoticon

These are quite effective. I used to run one on my road bicycle.

I ordered another pile of stuff and tools for the BGM 177 rebuild. I was in a bit of a rush because I wanted to get it in the mail so it'll hopefully be here by next weekend.

Yesterday, I got to tear around town a bit on DR+RedactedRS pipe. It's a fun ride, but I think of the wasted potential every time I rev it out. I'm pretty sure the clutch side seal is leaking a little bit, because I get some white smoke out the exhaust when it revs up, but the CHT never got above 305, so I'm not too worried about it for a few more weeks until I get the new motor built.

Caught a flat, and it was my own damn fault.

Rode across town and stopped in for breakfast. When I came out, my rear tire was flat.

Thankfully, it's a Vespa, so...

Turns out I mounted my innertube a little too crooked and the valve stem wore against the rim. Thank goodness it bled down while parked instead of on the road!

Best,

I had that happen while out on a ride with V oodoo a couple weeks ago. It was so loud, I couldn't believe it. Was an easy fix, and made for a funny story

lol, yeah it was LOUD, but funny and easy to fix w/ only 2 13mm wrenches, a screw driver and a ratchet w/ plug socket. Fortunately we were able to push and pry the header back over the exhaust nipple & retighten, as we had no 17mm to pull the big bolt from the pivot arm.

Today I got word that GT125 needed to replace a holed piston in the Rally 200 he's been helping our friend Ray with hoping to fix in time to hit a local club ride. So Ray came by to pick up a spare same size used piston I had just by luck, but in his car because dead scoot, and we took a nice twisty back roads scootride on 2 of mine. We rode over to visit Doc on my AllState and ratty Sprint to check his progress on big new sidedraft PHBH for his P200 w/ Malossi etc(works well so far) and on his old blue AllState twin project to mine(close to motor & fork install).

But also to check on the Doc, who just went thru some painful eye surgery and knows Ray from way back. Doc's doing good, feeling much better and was setting up to adjust shift & clutch cables for more test riding on the P. All in all a great day, lovely weather, fun riding w/ good news for all. Ray liked the Sprint and loved the little AllState so I got plenty of good feels too. 8)

How about both?

I met a guy who was lusting after one. While I can appreciate them, I am just more of a Vespa guy. Mostly because I don't fit on a Lambretta. It was sitting in my shed, all my attention was diverted to other rides, so I let it go for a number which was very beneficial to the both of us. 8)

Somebody and gotten in there and did some creative wiring. I suggested to the owner re-wiring back to stock and installing the mentioned converter before the investment of a new top end.

Yeah, this thing was opened up for an unrelated issue. I came across the "magic" someone had performed on the ignition years earlier. The bike had run like that for a decade without issue (save for a soft sieze two years ago riding balls out). The top end was pretty worn out so, I recommended tearing into that problem in the fall but, advised we would need to re-visit the ignition before riding on costly new parts. What I had read and discussed with others here did not sound promising for long term. The gamble here was that if put back, and stator positioned exactly as previous, he'd get by until after rally season and we'd swap out for a new top end... Did not go as planned.

That thing plus the piston Acquired through Voodoo magic, new rings and circlips. Hopefully nips the whole hole thing in the bud.

Today I did all the porting for my BGM 177 build. Lots and lots of porting.

I had to JB Weld the cases to match the fully-opened ports, plus make custom base gasket because the ones I bought weren't big enough to open them up.

I'm just about ready to start re-assembly. Just need to replace the cruciform and install the new bearings. I sprung for a crank remover, crank installer, and bearing pullers as part of this rebuild. They make a huge difference.

spent the whole day breaking things and then cleaning up the mess.

The ignition wire on the rally was too long and the cap and rotated around 180 deg and then a bump pulled it tight and cracked the cap. So figured now I should trim it to the correct length. That is as long as it should ever need to be, better give it a bit more, cut fit cap, take it for a ride, when I hit a good size bump it pulls the cap off. Finally made a new bracket to move the coil from the frame to the back of the engine.

But I am packed, bags are loaded on the bike and I think I'm ready for the Melee.

Malossi build on pause waiting for parts, so...

Remove 90/90 tires and install 3.5x10 again now that the 4th will be shorter and I will have more power.

Remove fuel tank and install rivnut for seat post hole - yea, it worked!

Next up new fuel tap and install wiring for Trail Tech TTO.

Need a seat for my '67 GT
Last ride with the boys busted my ass. Thinking of a nice low profile sport seat but want one that will go long without giving me a herniated disk. Suggestions?
