Thnx John. I am really happy with the exhaust. Lots of torque down low. I was expecting it to be a bit of a "sleeper", but thankfully it "wakes up" pretty quick. I'm still having a bit of a trouble dialing in the carburetor, but it's getting there...

Where are you at, with your build??? Has the clutch cover arrived?? We're waiting for updates...

I was on a vacation, will get back at it shortly, the cover arrived and fits with the banded clutch just fine. Stay tuned!

Dammit John, fire that thing up and make some music for us! Popcorn emoticon

Meanwhile, my motor only runs in the stand, and the bike still needs more work. More changes too... Here's what I'm up to, took it all apart again to finish body work & paint. Maybe gray hammertone.

Today I had a unexpected day off due to electrical failure at work today. Then I weeded the garden, rode the ET3 to lunch with a friend and played with my bikes in the backyard. Nothing too exciting but it is always nice to enjoy some unexpected time off lazily.
Hope you are all doing well.....

Today I was within 3 miles of Scooters Originali, at the America on Wheels museum in Allentown. Just a brief stop on my way to see family in Hamburg, PA. Totally spaced out on the fact that Scooters O is here, and it was too late to re-arrange plans to leave earlier. Hoping to squeeze it in, but failed. I can always order parts, but was looking to get some motivation as I'm getting back on my Rally project. Oh well...

Washed all the bugs and dirt off the rally and changed the clutch cable that was down to ~4 strands.

Changed out the flat spare on the rally.

I was curious what killed it so inspected the tube, there was a slit half way up the sidewall section of the tube. No damage could be seen in the tire at all.

I had hit a really bad pothole shortly before, and near as I can figure it pinched the side of the tube. I'll have to put that in the negative column for tubes, but given that's the first flat I've had on a tube since 1989...

Nice! I've been watching that thread too.

So tell me, which is more likely to burn? Something that is "highly inflammable" or an item that is "highly flammable"?

Although they are synonyms I believe the correct term is "Highly Flammable". The "extremement" term is French according to Google...

%*@$ing cables
Started trying to replace the cables on my smallframe last night and I have no idea what I'm doing, despite reading through every post and informational page I could find. We just couldn't get to the headset end of the throttle cable - everything is way too tight, not enough room to get pliers in there to grab it, and it bends under a metal bracket. I really don't want to have to take the bloody headset off, but oh well.

Got out the smallie for a ride, headlight circuit is shorting though. After some digging I see that it shorts with throttle cable movement and I can turn it on/off with small movements of the throttle. I'll have to dig in later to find it. I pulled that circuit from my junction block so I can have nice brake lights anyway.

sorted. Speedo bulb wire stuck against the throttle pulley. Rerouted and good.

You have set it up on .com rather than .com.au
Well spotted... here's the correct URL -

Today we added some more scoot themed decor to the home. check out our new dining table lamp shade! its a dented fender from a small frame fork that we bought. Threw a couple coats of clear on it and a edison bulb. Way more light than the old lamp provided there.

This morning while putting on my shoes, I noticed this and figured that I must have stepped on a piece of hot metal while welding.
But then the penny dropped and I knew it was only warm metal and why my right foot.
Anybody else w/ shoes like these?

Blockbuster was out of it.
"Lads! I've just seen Spider outside, he's taken a kicking! Some rockers 'ave 'ad 'im!"

Rcvd this today. Used to have rallies in '84 just to ride and see it at the Ken cinema in San Diego.

Up to date and no grainy VHS version anymore...wasnt there a remake being tossed around? In which they are all old scooter farts like (most of) us?

About to put on my winklepickers, pop some blues and wheel the scoot into the living room.
