today is the last day for me to pics which bike will i take to go to the asia vespa world day..

from 4 only 3 is running but still leave me a quite headache as
1. the vbb, engine runs ok just a fload needle need to be change but the pipe sit too low and it still on 8" while the road to the event isnt very good
2. the smallframe 100, engine good just the fload needle that keep the spark black but still good as long i dont get a traffic jam.. got the torgue but its slow in the top speed
3. the vbx 150cc, engine good but i am still using the old 6 spring clutch and the 12" rear tyre so its gonna be heavy in a uphill and the event is across 2 mountain road and yes its pink

the distance form my home is gonna be 600km and i will be going tommorow night

anyone wanna help me decide and cheer

I think you should follow your heart Ebeth... how's that for good advice?

Maybe do a swap? Put your best bits from the others to get one going well? How long should the 600k take you?

The Gilera looks very nice Patrick... saw one a couple of years ago in the flesh and they're pretty impressive.

Dyno baby, Dyno
After many years of waiting for Speedy to have a well setup motor, I FINALLY put it on the DYNO...
awaiting the results to be sent, but it managed just over 14hp, not too bad for a 1969 VBC 2-port with a mere 166cc !
My setup was good, no jet/needle changes needed, & lots of hp across the range.
Top speed: 132km/h in 4th, then I buttoned off!

In the garage...
Mounted up a pair of Heidenau K80 90/90's to a set of Pinasco tubeless rims.

Test ride tomorrow. Letting the copper rtv cure.

BTW I had to grind the clutch cover a bit to clear the rim. No problems with the tire rubbing.

Did a lot work on a mates P200e and got him back on the road...

* We tightened fork bearings and locked the nut PROPERLY! His scoot was unrideable with how loose the fork bearings were due to the locknut backing off.

* We went through all his wiring and cleaned and sprayed anticorrosion compound on every connection. Now everything works again.

* Adjusted all the cables properly - they were all out in some way or other.

* Checked air filter and carb in general.

* Gave it a clean up and went for a quick spin to check everything

All in all it took us a 3 or 4 hours but it certainly saved him a lot of $$ for our efforts.

You use RTV on your rims? Is that necessary? I just fitted my first tubeless and it didn't need anything extra, seems to be holding pressure ok.

Ha, I should've been more specific.

The expansion chamber is a split design, the copper rtv went on the end of the manifold junction.

I used grease on the valve stem and the split rim o-ring, also loctite blue on the fasteners.

Love that scoot my first Italian import 150 Sprint was that blue and I am dying to get my hands on a small frame. Need to clear the project shed out first though. I found a ETA 125 last year in that colour but no where near as well sorted priced at £3.5k it made it easy to walk away. .

Yesterday, I finally finished up the electrical & timing for the install of the SoCal LML Motor that I converted to 8" into my VBB.

I'd set it up with a Kytronik and a P200E stator & flywheel, but it kept flaking out, so I finally ripped the damn thing out and went with static 18 deg timing.

Cleaned up all the wiring for the 12V conversion, installed LED bulbs, and am ready to do final carb tuning.

I also finally used my adjustable timing light. Holy crap is that better than a fixed timing light.

I set TDC, got it running and it was way off (as I knew it would be w/o the Kytronik. I was able to measure the actual timing by adjusting the light until the marks lined up, adjusted the stator, checked again, adjusted again and it was dead-on perfect all the way up the rev curve.

Even without the carb dialed in, it gets a little light on the front wheel when it gets up on the pipe. Other than being super-loud, I think it's going to be a really fun bike.

Eventually, I'll probably pick up a Pipe Deisgn S-Box III, at which time the SIP Road 2.0 will probably go on it for a little quieter ride so I don't have the neighbors wanting to kill me.

I'll check that out, but I'll be on the road over the weekend, so probably won't have a chance until the next weekend.

In my case, it just seems like a bad connector inside the casing where I'll have too cut it open to get to it. What I found was that I could kill it by wiggling the white wire that came out of the SB and into the CDI. Likewise, when it vibrated, it seemed like it would miss.

One question about the SB...is the LED on it supposed to be steadily lit or flashing flickering? Mine is flashing/flickering and it just doesn't feel right.

SaFiS tells me that he used this kit, which he bought in Greece, to refurbish his speedometer. I have been looking for something similar in the US but haven't been able to find one.

Does anyone know who carries this, or a comparable kit, in the US?

Hopped on my smallframe after 4 days melded over hundreds of miles to my P200. Interesting! You quickly spot things that normally don't stand out. In my case, I now want to better adjust the rear brake and clutch cables, and finally fix the slight headset to fork misalignment that has been present since I bought the bike.

Thank you whodatschrome, and Yes I understand that Speedoking is VERY good but I'm still hoping to make this a DIY project. That's why I'm hoping that someone can direct me to a kit similar to the one that SaFiS used to repair his buddy's speedometer.

Anyone?

Speedos are fashionable and comfy
Maybe speedo-king will just send you the parts? He might be the most solid option. I have 2 or 3 Speedos I'm planning to send to him at some point.
