Cleaned up & polished the Rally and a added rack. Celebrated with a lovely ride on curvy uphill/downhill forested roads to somewhat remote county park on the north east side of Lake Washington . I thought it was not well known but the beautiful weather brought the crowds and made parking a big hassle. For cars that is.

Been after a motorbike for awhile - namely a Guzzi V7. Came across this 1983 V50. My mate who's a Guzzi dealer and mechanic said to steer clear of it but I fell in love with it. Got gazumped and missed out. It was cheap enough that I wouldn't have to sell the PX to get it. Even had the wife's go ahead. Pretty pissed off.

Worked on the P200 a bit. Installed remagnetized lightened flywheel, works now. Need to weigh the original, at 5.9 lbs the lightened one is still kind of a porker. Installed richer idle jet to try to fix trace knock at low throttle 5500+ rpm. Found my air screw was so far in I could turn off the idle screw and keep running- doh. 45/120 jet at 1 turn on the mix to start, we'll see how it goes.

Took my toolbox out of the Primi at lunch when I went to the gym as I don't want people making off with my tools. Forgot it work, so I couldn't fill up on the way home (no oil, no mix cup). Thank goodness for the little jerry can .
It's got me thinking I'd like some sort of lockable storage on there. A locking seat might be really nice - but I don't see any options other than the ET3 style. Anyone know of any? Alternatively I suppose I could go battery-less and use the battery area if I convert the handle to the lock setup (better to not loose the unobtanium door...) |

Hey John.. Streamline seats lock.. but anyone w/ a screwdriver or anyone who's stronger than a strong baby could no doubt get the seat off.. I think the same goes for any locking seat..
However.. a locked seat, as we know, may deter a thief.. I wrote HOMICIDE on the side on my 50 hoping that may deter any would-be thieves... ... results of my warning paint TBD.. it'll probably just get me pulled over by the cops... I just have faith in my fellow man, and hope for the best. Seriously, if I've got anything I care about in my glovebox, I keep it in a small tool bag and take it w/ me.. leave the oil and oil cup.. if a thief takes those.. Merry Christmas! |

Yeah it's more the deterrent factor. Hell if they really want it they just pick up the whole scoot and take it. But sounds like a good excuse for a streamline seat

But sounds like a good excuse for a streamline seat There's always the sticker approach.. "touch my bike and die" kind of thing... OR.. a little battery powered blinking light (AS IF you had some kind of alarm).. kind of like the fake security cam i had outside my house years ago w/ a battery powered blinking light.. (while no one give any credence to those anymore, one on a scooter may work) Just thinking inside the rectangle. |

Or there's the buy extra sets of cheap tools and replace as necessary route.... I don't know how serious I am, just brainstorming.

I hope it doesn't come to that..
... I keep some stuff in this bag I designed.. it needs a big lock.. but I know anyone could slice it w/ a knife.. I'd like to make a kevlar (or some kind of space-age, uncuttable fabric) version.. In my O.. if they want to take it they will.. if you don't want it taken, take it w/ you and just don't forget it... (I've forgotten plenty of stuff at work, so I'm not goofing on you) ![]() |

V oodoo wrote: OK, how about a locking tool box cover? Somebody made a nice one for my Primavera but I felt it was a bit ugly & removed it when I installed the locking ET3 style seat(which I prefer as it's slightly taller than original). It's well made from heavy galvanized sheet and if you don't have the tapped holes near the front of the tank for mounting the hasp loop, you could rig something held by the front tank bolts. Just say the word and it's yours. |

I haven't had much time to post about it, but I bought an engine rebuild kit for my P125X and my friend stripped the engine down and rebuilt it. The clutch side seal fell apart and caused some scratches on the piston and cylinder, but it still runs strong. I'm replacing the cylinder and piston during the winter.
I am a neophyte to the world of 2-stroke vespa scooters, so I mostly observed and tried to learn as much as I could and helped out here and there. The clutch was rebuilt, all the seals as well as gaskets and put back together, kick start gear and the works. We found that the engine had been rebuilt previously and though some of the workmanship was mostly adequate, the clutch side seal was backwards and caused failure. The previous owner had the motor rebuilt and then shelved the bike and let the tabs expire. I purchased it and began riding it and put it through a lot of stress and the seal went catastrophic and the rest was history. My friend worked on it ever day leading up to our club ride on this past Saturday, and had it running like a top. The bike runs beautifully, and is very strong (as strong as a p125x bone stock can be) The ride was successful and it was the only ride that I have been on so far that some crazy shit didn't take place. It was very satisfying to ride and I gained a lot of enjoyment from the experience. Praise Xenu! ![]() |

are you running the p200 size disc (200mm) with those 12in wheels?
If so there are ways to go with the 220 from a GTS or the 240 from an MP3. The disk to wheel ratio has a huge impact on braking force (bigger the wheel and smaller the brake the worse things are). |
