So jealous.
Also - bit confused.
Did one of the daughters get detention and have to write Danny Divito's name 100 times on the glass?

But mostly - just jealous.

Something to do with some weird meme type thing going around their school. They didn't even know who a Danny Divito was or (as you can see) how to actually spell his name. Don't worry - I schooled them on both. My daughter also thought it was hilarious to write "poo bum" in black marker on the door to my shed right after I finished doing it up...

Totally. It is a pretty compact unit (~1.2m) - the bench was still covered in all the crap used to beat the guard and other frame work stuff.

I had to disassemble it to move it. Despite that the lathe bed alone is right on the limit of what I can lift by myself. My back hates me right now.

I've been looking for a (not Chinese/Taiwanese) bench top lathe for ages. Missed out on a slightly smaller but newer one recently (no milling unit). There is a following for lathes similar to Vespas... so gotta hunt hard to get one. Stoked to get a milling unit.

BC I need more scooter heartache, confusion, and floundering in my life... I bought a Lambretta. In my head, just as I typed that, I heard Red Foreman say - "Dumbass."

Luckily, it looks to be restored in pretty proper fashion. Nice 62 Li125 with a 150 top end done during the recent rebuild.

Be fun to ride around on while I finish up the VNB.

Why isn't it considered 'proper'? Twist grip 4-speed 2-stoke right? Basically a PX200 motor?

Sounds legit to me. And at that price...

It's always random, I've found. My last SIP order via Fedex took something like three weeks while it took a long touring vacation around Germany.

I've had it take under a week, usually if I order over the weekend and pay the surcharge for priorty picking, I'll get it by Friday night, but ordering has been a shit show all year, because 2020.

My LTH box I hadn't used for a while went missing(!) so I borrowed Craig's SIP road, twin pipe version. He'd made adjustments so that he could change the rear wheel without taking the pipe off.... cut back, a couple of sleeves with nuts welded in to clamp to long sections of pipe.
I noticed it was much louder one day - hadn't used it for a month or so. Looked and found bits missing! So patched it up using an old donor box I had hanging around. I used a 22mm ID box spanner I had. The Polini box has a 22mm OD and wanted to see if it made a difference power-wise. If it's too noisy I have another box spanner I can use to sleeve it down.

It's like watching a bisection/ colonoscopy. That is a crazy good fix.

Editors note: that's why they made mad max in Australia.

Editors second note: most popular vehicle in Australia is a ute. Seriously. Google it.

Also: talk about friendship. I woulda texted pictures of it in trash bin to Craig with caption: "thanks for the loan. Love u brother!". Headed for the fridge and grabbed a beer.

Impressive all around

Hopped on the scoot for a quick run to the gas station. As I pulled in, the throttle cable snapped at the headset.

Pulled the headlight and there was just enough inner left to grab with some pliers. Clamped some vice grips on and rode back operating the throttle like so:

What's most impressive to me is that you had a pair of vice grips in your glovebox

I one time tried driving home holding the broken throttle cable inner dangling from the carb, left hand on the handle bars, right hand down by my side manipulating the cable. That is very difficult to do in case you were wondering! Every bump and I was suddenly at full throttle!

I eventually gave up and walked home.

Tie the throttle cable off to your right shoe lace. Then you can have your left hand being able to modulate the clutch. I would think it would be better than walking!

I LOVE IT! One time I had to pop the back window out of my VW and used some twine to run the throttle over my shoulder when I broke the throttle cable.

But I gotta say, that was nothing compared to this improvisation. Clap emoticon

What do you think of the LTH box? I was looking at P200 performance and it looks good. Also looking at a BGM touring. The LTH is $130.00 delivered. The BGM is over $200.00 plus delivery.

Got a flat this week. Went to the local shop and bought a few tubes, didn't really pay attention. Put the new tube in but managed to have the valve turned the wrong way. Mounted it up and then noticed the error. Wheel back off, pulled the wheel apart and noticed I pinched the tube between the rim halves. Touched the spot and the tube just leaked out all the air. Got the second tube, put it in and stared at it, why won't the tube fit? Looked at the box they are 3.5-4x10 tubes. Get the old tube out to compare and yes its smaller and yes that makes a big difference. Patched the old tube, rotated the tires and put it all back together. 30 minute job done 3 hours later.

FWIW, what kind of mileage are people seeing on S83s? I'm at about 2K and the rear is pretty well worn, though a hard seize and a few skids may have contributed to premature wear.

Hal

Christopher I had the LTH on the (unaltered) BGM187 cylinder for a while. I also tried a Big Box Sport belonging to a mate. The BB was fun but had a big dip before coming on to the pipe. The LTH similar but with less dip, perhaps less top end? Been a while. In comparison the Sip Road is pretty linear until it gets on the pipe and therefore less oomph felt at that point. Quality seemed good.

In comparison the Sip Road is pretty linear until it gets on the pipe and therefore less oomph felt at that point. Quality seemed good.
I've got a couple of SIP RoadXL's and a Road 2.0. I worked my way up from the Road 2.0 to the XL to the Pm Tuning pipe I'm running right now.

the XL was similar to the road 2.0 in terms of overall curve shape, just more of it. The PM Tuning comes in a little bit later, then peaks out higher. I'm probably going to swap back to the Road XL, both because it's better for urban traffic riding in the 25-40 MPH range, and because it's seems quieter than the PM Tuning, even though it measured the same on my decibel meter.

Have an XL here as well. I don't recall much specifically about it, except that it fell to bits internally in not a long space of time.

Yesterday my kid forgot to brake when flying into the garage on his bicycle and knocked my Stella over, breaking a turn signal lens. Poor little guy was so scared to tell me. he didn't realize that I *live* for opportunities to order more scooter parts from ScooterWest.

And so today I ordered a set of lenses.

Mark (Poi Dog) came over for a wrench and ride. So fun.

His Sears BlueBadge is one of the nicest OG paint scooters I have seen. Amazing. Rides as good as it looks too!!!

Good Saturday.
