I was trying to change my spark plug but there is a bracket that holds it in. i twisted the spark plug wire to clear the bracket but the wire will not budge off the spark plug. no tutorials or videos show this bracket. see picture attached.
rotate the cap about 90* so that the base is clear of the clip/bracket assembly then you can pull it back and off. it's a pain in the ass, so you may need a set of pliers (i use hose pliers) or a 17mm wrench will just catch the lip of the cap and you'll be able to pry it back and off.
i know, it sucks. thankfully the install is quite a bit easier.

You might find that there is not enough slack in the HT lead to turn the cap enough. The clamp is held by a small nut (about 6mm) which you can access from underneath. Backing that off a little should give you enough play. I have known dealers to not put the clamp back but the risk is that the plug cap works loose.
Anyone know if this bracket can be fitted onto a 2008 GTS?
I had my spark plug cap pop off for the second time whilst in 70 mph traffic.
Not exactly my idea of fun.
Part number(s) would be much appreciated.
Madison sully, it sounds like you need a new spark plug cap. I have to fight to get mine off, even though it is a push on/pop off cap. Could just be a bit worn. But, looks like the bracket is cheap insurance!
