It looks like he was demonstrating the Oil Blow to Air Filter.
Did he really suck out the Oil, and run the engine again?

i have watched a few of his videos before. smart guy.
I understand a little bit since Dutch and German have some similarities up to a point word wise, but he talks to fast for me to catch a lot of what he is saying. From what it looks like to me, drain all you oil from your motor and you will no longer have blow by. |

Clearly shows why you shouldn't overfill the oil but is the amount of blow-by normal or does it suggest some piston/ring problems? I run an open breather pipe so that any issue like this shows up immediately but I have never had any problem on 250 400 or 330 engines. Never more than a light coating of oil building up over time from the breather pipe exiting at the rear.

From what it looks like to me, drain all you oil from your motor and you will no longer have blow by. Then he proceeded to extract the Oil. My expectation he would put some back and show how much, but he blew my mind when he started the engine with No Oil and did the demonstration again. DA! We know without any oil their would be no Oil Blow! I guess this engine was going to be rebuilt. I was surprised it ran as long as it did without locking up. That is why he had the bike all apart, possibly. If anything, its was good few minutes to show the Oil Blowing out. I thought everyone would enjoy this one. Keith |

I to was quite impressed by that. He could have put some slick 50 in there.

I did an Oil Change on the 2016 MP3/500 Sport today.
It's going to rain all weekend, so doing Maintenance on Cars/Truck/Bikes... This Oil change has 1000 miles on it... (Recycle to Lawn Equipment.) I was very happy to see my Air Box looked like this, with 1400cc of Oil in the Engine. ![]() View of Air Box on MP3/500 Sport with Oil Levels at 1400cc.

I worked in a car shop once, and had the opportunity to see what the engine looked like torn down by someone who used a can of this to replace a quart of oil like they used to advertise. This stuff never comes out when you drain, it just stays in there as a black sludge. But I always thought a little bit in moderation was a good idea. |

I typically stick to manufacture recommendations when it comes to fluids. Especially if it is certified as long life. For me, I use Aral Supertronic III as it has VW's 507.00 LL recommendation on it with their filter. 30000km is the oil change interval. 18500 miles for the non metric people out there. This is with 147xxx miles on the clock, but keep in mind that it is a diesel. I do run a fuel cleaning through once in a while and I do the same thing on the scoot. how well it supposedly cleans fuel system remains to be seen I guess, as i am not paying to have the fuel injector flowed to see if it is flowing like stock.

Hey klaborde,
I noticed in your pic that you had a bit of oil on the inner wall of the airbox as well as on and around the tube. Would you say this is a normal amount of oil blow? Thanks. klaborde wrote: I did an Oil Change on the 2016 MP3/500 Sport today. It's going to rain all weekend, so doing Maintenance on Cars/Truck/Bikes... This Oil change has 1000 miles on it... Way better then opening the Air Box Cover, and you have oil spilling all over the place. I was very happy to see that my Oil Level, and and the mix of speeds I do provided this result to me. I would say I am 60% 25-55 mph (Roads around the City of Atlanta), and 40% 55 mph+ (Interstate Highway). Thanks, Keith |
