I'm lucky enough to set my work hours. 6:30 to 3:00 keeps me ahead of 7:00 to 3:30 shift workers. I can ride the slab 75% of my commute, or 25% slab and a fun ride through early morning city streets.
5:50 this morning, I start the BV and no headlight. So I look over and think should I drive the van? Not just no, but HELL NO! I open the pet carrier and swap my lunch for my ball cap with lights, magnetic screwdriver and spare headlight. Finished up and started the bike, 6:03. Damn, had to ride the slab to work. I might have broke the speed limit, went 25 miles in 27min. and clocked in at 6:30 sharp Whew emoticon

Clutch?
The rear offside turn signal bulb stopped working on the X9 just before I had to take it for its MOT, I couldn't believe the rigmaroll it took just to change a bulb! Including Youtube tutorial, removal of the top box and battery, I think it was 14 screws I had to remove to get it out!

Turns out it was a loose spade connector.

Still made the MOT though

I thought that was the clock battery. Never had to change mine, yet.

Could you of just rode the scoot with the high beam on and then changed the bulb when you got home again?

I don't like looking at the high beams from cagers. You know the saying, "do unto others..."
Three headlight changes in 19,950 miles and I buy ultra white bulbs $$$. I think I'm getting the hang of DIY BV. Doing my 20,000 mile service(I know 24,000) today to my commuter bike. Tomorrow I'll be doing Scotts 12,000 mile service and rear tire change. Bike maintenance is fun

You've had 3 headlights in 20K miles? My BV 250 has 20K and is still on the original headlight... Wonder what the difference is...

Hmmm..... Does make one think. I've just shy of 24,000mi on my Buddy 150 and did my first headlight replacement as the high beam had gone out.
I ride with that on during the day.

But he said he bought the "ultra white $$$ bulb". I did this on my Honda Element.... first bulb lasted 80-something k miles, then I went through 2 or 3 headlights in a year. Went back to the regular "dim" bulbs.....

The packaging on those bulbs warns that they usually don't last nearly as long as the standard ones.

My stock headlight on said BV, quit at 7,000 miles. So I'm avg. just under 7,000 per bulb.

Today the headlight failed on the way to work. Had to use the hi-beam but at 5AM there's not many drivers out. I keep a spare on the BV's at all time. 5 minutes to change it at work. Still haven't broke the 7,000 mile average. Looks like Scoot Life is getting close to failure.

I've just replaced my headlamp for the third time. I installed an LED pilot bulb and an LED brake light while I was at it. it has been hot AF here, with the usual high humidity. By the time I replaced three units in about 30 min, I was soaked.
