I just picked up this scooter from York Pa and brought it back to Pittsurgh where I'm working. Will have it shipped back to Boise next month.

4100 miles. Still has the original warranty paperwork and mixing cup. (No tools 😞)

It was originally bought by the York Newspaper brand new, and used for a few years to deliver newspapers. It then sat in their warehouse for twenty years till an Ecuadorean immigrant mechanic found it (he remembered having one as a kid). He got it 19 years ago and basically kept it at his auto garage, riding it around every few years. He is retiring and had to get rid of it.

It wasn't a steal, but original SS180s only come around occasionally, and I've been craving one for a while.

It's all complete except for a few bolts and screws. The seat cover was done by a local shop, will replace shortly.

Yes it runs. It doesn't look like the case was ever cracked.

These photos were taken after a quick hand wash.

What's up with the cowl rubber? No scissors in PA? Looking forward to another Vespa in Boise to help balance out the Lambretta/Vespa ratio?

If you don't mind - what did you need to give for that? It's clean, and worth a premium in my mind. Just not sure how much that's worth.

I didn't steal it, but I didn't get ripped off.

Im sure I could sell it for more than I paid.

Will never sell it though.

I would need to buy a few more Vespa's to even out the ratio. Damn Lambretta mafia.

Well it's one of those rare finds that are worth a premium, as I said. Me, I'd probably pay up to 50% extra for that condition. If you don't want to say, that's your business, I was just curious. Nice find!

Wow. An SS180 is a great looking model. Not one I particularly would want but your particular example looks fantastic. Great Find.
