I am using Vespa P 150 X. I am using NGK BP6HS plug. I want to know is there any tool to check that the spark plug is working fine or it is doing malfunctioning ? I change my spark plug after every 3000 kilo miter. Normally what is the best practice to check and change the plug.

thanks

With the plug removed hold the threads against a metal part of engine while turning the engine over. There should be a blue spark.

Thanks for the reply. Well the electric current cable comes from the coil and the other end is terminated to the plug. The blue spark also depend on the coil condition as well even if the plug is bad ? If yes how may i check the coil ...?

Well "Ginch" if we use two plug as shown in the picture given , both spark plug should be of same ago then this test is good. I mean if we buy both new then it is good ,if one is old and other is new then the test result should be wrong.
So as "joshzingzing" said to check the spak ,if it is blue then it is good.

I think you are over thinking this. It won't matter what the plugs are like doing the above method, unless you REALLY have an issue...

I'd say that changing the plug every 3000 km is overdoing it too. But to each his own. 8)
