I intend building an BETTER 8 inch touring torque tractor with a solid 80 km/hr

Im already getting that behaviour from a un touched DR 177 cylinder with an untouched Gs piston matched to super cases (cut third port in)..22 tooth clutch...24 dellorto...sip road pipe.

Now Im building another motor (for another scoot)with the same set up (cos I tested that set up over 4 years of hard thrashing and It is indeed bullet proof)

So Ill repeat the top end hard ware (and add a cut crank) however this time Im going to dremmel the hell out of both GS piston and DR177 cylinder.

any pics, tips from those who have been there?

No intention of changing from 8inch or points so don't even go there

I remember Sara Alexander put in a fair bit of time and effort to bring a DR up to Polini port timings. For some people it's the DR or nothing due to financial restraints... I guess I'm saying there are so much more powerful kits out there now. Chandlerman's description of his DR was a case in point... can't find the thread just now.

chandlerman's "There pretty much isn't anything I won't dremel at this point" is one of my all time favorite quotes.

My VBB will do better than 80 km/hr on 8"s all day long with a Pinasco 177 2-port and a 20/20 carb and a stock exhaust. Ports & cases are totally unmolested on that one. I'll swap the SIP Road onto it if I ever go to a SIP XL or Big Box, but other than that, replacing the front fork and the fact that the electrical system is still the sad 6v joke, it just runs and runs.

My ported DR was a MUCH better jug than the stock Malossi 166 I have on there now. Lots more low-end torque, which is what I really need for primarily city riding.
